Okay I’m in Thumbs Up .
Light training last night : no issues other than my knee ached a bit late last night, but nothing like it has been.
We did ground work and a bit of upper body (short strikes and blocks) and after that mainly theory (body mechanics).

Me too.
I only started the thread so these lazy couch potatoes would get off the sofa and leave more space for my increasingly fat arse.

I did do some bingo wing exercises for about 3 days - about a week before New Year.

I might start them again.
But that's not really FITNESS is it.
More about vanity really.

I started a diet as I put on over a stone over Christmas and it started to be a struggle to put my socks on Shocked
so from the 06/01/20 weight of 18st 8lbs Sick aiming to lost a stone before my birthday which is 10 weeks
13/01/20 weighed in at 18st 6 3/4 lbs so just about on track

Stupid thing is I've put that weight on simply by eating too much sweet stuff and drinking too much

I cycle around 45 to 50 miles a week and walk around 30 miles a week
so plenty of exercise but still walking up stairs shouldn't leave me sounding like I'm going to die!

lost a further 31/2 pounds so good so far

Went back to light training last week and all was going well.
First any pressure was put on my knee and BLAM! , back to square one Crying or Very sad .

Trying hard and doing the exercises the physio gave me to do .
Still no joy , this has been going on since the beginning of December 2019 Evil or Very Mad .

I’m getting out of the flow of regular training and I am not keen on that.
Wheezy fat belly is going to be my new look this year Shocked Crying or Very sad .

Trained last night , did 50% technique and 50% light sparring.
Came home in one piece Smile Thumbs Up
I even did a press up Wink

I was really pleased with my opponents who took into consideration my injuries as much as I took care not to make thier injuries any worse.
It was quite funny ,it looked like the spaz version of ‘Fight Club’ Shocked Laughing

Well, you did say you were a walking heart attack in the making, so I guess a bit of climbing should be ok Smile

I've run out of cigarette money for the next fortnight, so I'll be climbing a different kind of wall...

Now work seems to be getting in the way of training Confused .
Every shift this week has been on a training evening Evil or Very Mad

Mind you I certainly didn’t need any training after the last shift, busy as a busy thing on National Busy Day.
Was on my feet for the full 8hours without a break.

I’m definitely definitely definitely going to go back to a full week of training starting Monday........... hopefully Smile

Slowly getting back into the training lark.
Went twice last week and might manage to go twice this week.

It’s so hard to get fit and so easy to lose that little bit of fitness when you stop training Shocked .
I’m to old to be full on with my training, but I’m still plugging away.

Now where’s that pie I bought yesterday!

Training involves a lot of sweating and puffing as an old man tries to fool himself into thinking he’s 30 again Smile

Jumping around trying to pretend to be a ninja.

I can tell you what it doesn't entail for me right now: any kind of cardio work Sad
I was able to do just enough to start craving the great feeling it left me with after, until my dodgy knee cried "no more!"

Bugger.

Fitness (lol, in my case) training is the only method I currently have of sticking it to life and saying, "I ain't giving up yet."

So for me it currently entails just weights, push ups, sit ups etc.
I channel my anger and frustration into it, so for me, it's really just an outlet for all that angst.

I will be at the gym this evening I've started my next 6 week training program which consists mainly of weights. Trying to increase my upper back and shoulder strength as I'm just about 12m post op from a shoulder repair. Hoping to do a marathon in the next 2 years as only done a half previously and had to give up on the full due to a hip injury (that also required surgery).

Also want to increase my squat and deadlift 1 rep max but had a crappy few weeks with illness and death in the family so no doubt tonight will be disappointing.

Done all sorts in the past from running, shot put, karate, Thai boxing, strongman (I'm not a dancer in any stretch of the imagination).

In my efforts to be amazing I'm currently sat outside on a bench at work eating a 6 pack of golden syrup pancakes
