Hi all.
When i got the bandit in November, it has a horrible Bandit sticker on the grab rail, well sticker was ok but someone had tried to remove so edges looked messy, so in my wisdom off came the sticker. Which revealed why there was a sticker. big scratches that went right into the silver primer.

So,, seeing as I cant seem to find the right sticker i thought id re paint it.. but log book just says BLUE. yet theres loads of suzuki blues. Lookin on net I can see what looks to be the right colour, but you can bet if i buy it blind, it will be wrong.

any idea where to get the right paint code or even decent grab rail stickers. re paint probably be better,
thanks

On the Grab Rail?

Hammerite Black is your best bet.

There are companies that will mix you paint from a chip of the original paint (google is your friend here).

Really though it's a grab rail off a bandit..... I'd just take it in to halfords and go for whatever can it matches closest.

You could try asking at bikes.suzuki.co.uk or finding a phone number and asking.

Failing getting the right paint, if you get something close, then painting the whole grab rail will lessen the perceived difference, or even "if you can't hide it, make it into a feature", a contrasting colour if there's anything good you can think of.

Edit:

Or search online for: "gsf650s blue paint code"

Or: https://www.banditforum.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=77165.0

If what's showing is silver, it's not primer, it's bare metal.

Sand it back, paint it with a satin black aerosol (to match the seat) and forget about it.

assumed it was, one of the blues for the bike requires a silver primer to give its sparkly depth, something like that anyway, or they sell shit paint and thats required.

Larger Halfords will mix the colour for you and prepare an aerosol.

As you've now got the paint code, why not order it online?

I still may, but still working out why some sell as a basecoat that you then clearcoat and why some say you need 2 stage colour then basecoat.
its only the grab rail afterall but dont want to end up paying £50 to paint it. Smile

Meh, that'll be something to do with the paints from different companies being different.

What's the paint code?

or even decent grab rail stickers.

Local auto factors (if they haven't closed down yet).

The paint is a candy metallic with base-coat, coloured and then
clear lacquer. A single layer from a rattle can might not be a
good match.

Have you still got the box and instructions for your helmet?
They often come with a spare sticker. A Shoei sticker has
strong adhesive and is reasonably durable.

There is a lad down the road from here that always buys
cheap Box helmets and puts Shoei stickers front and back Smile
