Hello, this is my first post, I'll try to be a thorough as I can be,
So im experiencing a few things at once and was hoping someone may be able to shed some light as iv misplaced my Haynes manual and can't find a free pdf,
1. Starting the bike in the morning will take 4+ hits of the starter to actually get going... It'll fire, cut out, repeat, then afyer a few tries it stays running
2. Once running, occasionally a blip of the throttle will cause it to cut out too, or after a few mins it'll just cut out anyway,
3. Lack of power when accelerating, I have to rev and slip the clutch a little to get going on a slight hill or flat, down hill is fine but any resistance the bike struggles OR it will pull off fine but will kangaroo through 1st and 2nd gear
4. Top speed has decreased by about 10 mph overall, sometimes even more,
5. Engine management light has come on 3 times since the start of Jan 2020, but no fault codes,

I'm a little bit stumped on this one,

Iv read that it could be the exhaust/ intake tappets needing adjusting or the clearance of the valves, , but I don't want to dive in and find out its just my fuel injector is clogged or something sinister and much worse like a ring about to go, any information that may help would be much apriciated and may even save my little honda, wich would be great because i use it to get to work and back,

Just to add that so far iv done the basics, checked my rear and front wheel bearings to make sure they haven't binded, iv checked my breaks are free from rubbing, new air and oil filters, checked nothing was inside the intake, tried my best to clean up my spark plug, changed my oil an now I'm stuck (haha) again if anyone has any ideas, or if you've experienced this too, I'd love to hear about it,
Thanks in advance, ride safe everyone, thankyou.
Alistair.

It`s obviously short of fuel, it could be a partly blocked injector or one of many sensors giving false information controlling the fuel supply.
When was the last service done?
Also what does (tried my best to clean up my spark plug) this mean?

jaffa90 thankyou, I'll look into that, and I just unsrewed the spark plug, checked the clearance of it, gave it a wipe and just checked the connection for corrosin or dirt, also gave the starter a hit to check the strength of the spark, all seemed OK, good blue spark and last service June '19

The fuel / air mixture needs sorting providing the exhaust system is clear because it`s an air cooled engine.
You don`t want to " Idestroyengines".
