I am not superstitious, but does this corona plague remind of the 7 plagues in the bible:

Pestilence of livestock: Corona virus infect animals and humans alike
Thunderstorm of hail and fire: new zealand volcano / australian mega fire
Locusts: african locust storm (underneath all this alarmist news about corona virus)
Blood: I ate alot of something last week, my stool, well .......lets not go there.......
Frogs: hasbro will soon release new frog like yoda toy! (google it)
Wild animals or flies: ........er does cat incursions count?
Boils: not yet
Lice or Gnats: not yet

still, I hope everyone enjoys their new year virus free.............
Very Happy

Apparently they haven't done a very good job at covering it up as the story has been in local and national news. Rolling Eyes

Canary Wharf offices in lockdown after worker suffers coronavirus symptoms

Hundreds of staff were sent home after an office at London’s Canary Wharf was locked down over coronavirus fears.

American oil firm Chevron advised its 300-strong work force to work remotely after an employee reported flu symptoms on their return from a country infected by the deadly bug.

They were sent for testing and the company told staff not to return to work until the results are known.

https://metro.co.uk/2020/02/26/canary-wharf-offices-lockdown-worker-suffers-coronavirus-symptoms-12306334/

So what this means is that you can report flu like symptoms to get everyone in your office some time off work. Thumbs Up

That can be taken care of if someone makes a super ransomware virus called Corona that infects enough computers and servers to cripple the internet which would stop anyone from working remotely.

Such a ransomware virus would have devastating knock on effects. Twisted Evil

I've found the cause of the coronavirus outbreak:

Indian Islamic cleric Ilyas Sharafuddin said in an audio address that the coronavirus outbreak was a "punishment of Allah on China for mistreating Uighur Muslims".

Source is the section on "Xenophobia and racism related to the 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak"

No need to thank me Thumbs Up

Islam doesn't believe in science so Coronavirus can't exist.

That would be wrong. Islam has a long and impressive history of scientific discovery and development.

In other news, the health secretary has been diagnosed positive for coronavirus. She was apparently showing symptoms at an event hosted by BoJo. Here's hoping she gave both BoJo and Cummings an extra long and hearty handshake. Dance!

You seem to be confusing Islam with Evangelical Christianity.

Neither of them believe in science but it's hard to confuse the religion of suicide bombers with the religion of pickup trucks.

This is true, it was a shining light during the dark ages (circa 7-11th century). Introduction of the Hindu–Arabic numeral system to Europe, words such as Algebra, and Algorithm come from this period.

It's a question of how much it has moved on since then. This reminds me a bit of those who said 1980's HIV epidemic was some supernatural being's punishment for being gay. I sort of hoped we'd moved on a bit since then.

I remember in the Sars panic the local hospitals had meetings to organise staff volunteers to help take up the slack during outbreak. Guess which NHS staff didn't bother turning up, the doctors. They knew if it got that bad then there was no point in doing anything other than staying at home and riding it out with family. Today on the news the discussion was moving towards the idea of needing volunteers to help. Good grief.
