Okay, let me understand this...

China make shed-loads of money selling manufactured tat around the world. Their main needs are:

a) customers
b) raw materials

Both of which are located outside their own country.

They release a virus that kills let's say 5% of their own population and 20% of the rest of the world's population. Cue Global Financial Meltdown.

Due to the virus their customer base has less money and consequently buys less stuff. The numbers of workers in the Third World digging out the lithium etc. are reduced 'cos of Third World Healthcare.

Tell me where the upside is to all this?

Do you actually know what virtue signalling is? Or is it just another term in your lexicon of dogma that you throw around without understanding. Laughing

If you do understand what it is, I'd love you to point out exactly where I've done it. Rolling Eyes

When America recovers Uncle Donald will nuke China for it's sins.

Maybe they're aiming to takeover the tin foil production market

Refusing to blame the Chinese for this. Who else is responsible?

How can you blame the Chinese for a virus mutating and jumping species naturally? It just doesn't make sense.

You could blame them for not shutting down travel and warning the world earlier but do you really think that we would have done any better given the clusterfuckery that our Government has displayed? Or the 'Murcans? Or the Russians? I seriously doubt it. The only country to come out of this well so far is South korea.

Blame games are for idiots. The mature approach is to find out what went wrong, learn lessons from it, put processes in place to mitigate the effect if it happens again and move on.

You’ve no idea how a global bio war works have you?

Do you think it just targets the enemy on fatalities? Do you think it’s to kill people or reshuffle economic power?

Explain how you think a global scale bio war would pan out.

I have never knowlingly participated in a bio-war. Generally in wars people focus on attacking the enemy, but there are indeed exceptions e.g Sweden where they mostly attack their own people.

I think it would pan out by designing a bio weapon that targets specific DNA differences of the opponent. There are differences between races and even racial sub-groups but the life critical ones are all common so I think such weapons are a dumb idea in general. The closest you can get is adjusting sunlight levels, but the results are easily countered using either suncream or vitamin D supplements depending in the direction of change.

China were not the world superpower. They now may well be soon.

They can’t supply the whole planet and force the whole planet to buy Chinese goods, but they can buy the competition of the rest of the planet, forcing everyone to pay them be it on Chinese goods or British goods, from a British firm, made in Britain and owned by China.

I’ve explained how they're currently buying up Western stocks by the bucket load. They’re trying to take the US’s crown as the world economic super power. A year from now, I suspect they’ll do it unless we have a world war, which is doubtful when so many key players have enough nuclear arms to roast the planet.

It’s just taking economic cold (or flu) war to another level! Wink

You are correct about China's strategy, but the Covid-19 has nothing to do with it. Quite the opposite actually, this virus nearly screwed everything up for the Chinese reigme, a few weeks back it looked like they were on the verge of being overthrown by a public revolution.

That is interesting. As far as I know there is no similar law in the country of UK, so Chinese are aheads in the game.

Having fun with conspiracy theories aside (we will never really know why or how MPD was created), will any state or world region in any way benefit from the global turmoil?

You might want to put your brain in gear before stabbing at the keyboard with silly comments like that.

How long would a biological virus like this one last in an area devout of hosts? It lives in the hosts, not the area. You've just had a quick can of the Wiki page and spouted this without thinking it through.

Devoid

And it depends entirely on the pathogen

Well Covid-19 isn't a weapon... so not long.

But we are doing much less of that than we we used to. Don't you think that is a good thing? You don't seem to want to address the areas where we are winning?

Religions are just reeally successful conspiracy theories.

One city, cats and dogs, what about bats? If we're led to believe the hype, this didn't come from eating cats or dogs.

Rolling Eyes back at you.

Wet markets in China have reportedly reopened after easing of lockdown measures across several cities. Studies dating back to 2007 have suggested that wet markets and the consumption of bats are a “time bomb” for a coronavirus outbreak.

And where's the "sorry, our bad"?

Did you read the article or just read the headline and start spouting

Quote:
It comes after the coronavirus outbreak was linked to wildlife meat, prompting Chinese authorities to ban the trade and consumption of wild animals

That pretty much covers bats and everything
