Off-road Harley Shocked Interesting that he routes the breather pipe (via a swirl pot) to the chain Thinking

Is this effective?

It used to be, a very long time ago. However, nowadays I doubt much oil is emitted, unless on very old-fashioned stuff.

Oh, wait....!

Works fine IF they breathe oil.

I did this on my 350 bullet but it was breathing too much oil and it started getting into the brake drum. Been modifying the breather circuit so fingers crossed this time.

It’s hard to design a breather that emits the right amount of oil.

They either spit out so much that it’s an engine oil consumption (and oily tyre) issue, or they let the chain go dry.
