I'm currently reading the manual for the bike but it doesn't tell me where to place the engine oil. Do I add this in the same place as the dipstick is located or elsewhere?

Sorry for another novice question, but I am a novice.

Yes, it's poured into the dipstick hole until the right level is reached.

Might be a novice but at least you're servicing a 125 - unlike a lot of owners!

There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers Smile

Regarding the dipstick and/or oil sighting window: double check with the manual whether the oil level should be checked on the flat or on sidestand (usually the former.)

The oil isn't filled via the dip-stick hole, the dip-stick is the filler cap!
The filler-cap/dip-stick, normally screws in maybe 1/2 an inch... about the difference on the dip-stick between min and max... check the book whether you should check the dip-stick from screwed in or not.
Its more normal, to unscrew the filler-cap/dip-stick, wipe with a rag, then check the level on the stick, after putting it back in with it just resting on the top thread.. and worth checking, but usual for check to be made with bike on a centre stand or paddock stand or leaning against a wall so its vertical not tipped over like you were pouring milk!
But see the owners book or Haynes manual for specifics.

The dipstick should not be screwed back in to check the oil level. Put the dipstick back in its place (and without screwing it back in) pull the dipstick out to check the oil level.
The bike should be on even flat ground and the bike should be upright (not leaning to the left or right) when checking the oil level.
(I own a CBR150 & I use the hole located for the dipstick to fill the engine with oil)

If you are doing it properly, I'd say pull the oil strainer out but given you couldn't find where the oil is added, I'd say don't go unbolting the cases.

Getting the oil strainer out is a tedious job (opening & stripping of the engine).
But it is a good idea to thoroughly service your motorcycle (to make it as reliable as possible).
Go to a search engine on the internet & look for the CBR150 service manual PDF file (available for free).
The CBR125 & CBR150 is IDENTICAL except for a few details (eg 2 valves instead of 4, smaller cylinder / piston, etc).
Look at the service diagram which specifies every part (that indicate how many miles / km you can ride before servicing something specific)(the diagram is one page).
I would personally service every part that the list specifies NOW & keep track of it all (eg write down your mileage everytime something is serviced).
