Hi there I have a aprilia sr50r 65 plate bike was running fine untill a few weeks ago I was riding and all of a suddern the bike cut out and wouldn't start again..
I managed to take the bike home left it for a few hours and tried it again hoping it would cool down the bike starts after kicking it for 10 mins but once it's stats it will not stay started for more then 2 or 3 seconeds before it cuts back off again then will not fire back up at all could anyone give me any advice on what the problem could be any help would be really appreciated thankyou in advance

Lol... almost feels like repeating the reply from the other thread: check spark plug(s): damp with fuel? do you have good spark?

Hi mate thanks for your reply spark plug is quite new when i took it out it would say it was quiet dry to be honest and also is quiet black I don't have much knowledge about fixing bikes any advise would be a great help

Great! Sounds like fuel is coming through (maybe too much!) but are you getting a spark? Leave it out but touching the engine so you can see the spark... how's that looking?

All I remember about aprillia 50s was seized pistons due to excessive ragging.

A dude who really needs a thou bike but age restricts to a 50. ☹

Post Mortem examination tries to determine cause of death. Knowing what the body was being used for prior to expiring is a clue to what killed it.

What were you doing before the beast died/you killed it?
We're you flying down a big hill with the wind/jet-stream at your back?
Overspeed the engine and a bent valve push rod may result. Then it will be hopeless at starting. Same effect as no compression.
