Apologies if this has been covered before, I carry a tyre repair kit (tubeless) and footpump on my Tracer, but the Himalayan has tubed tyres, I don't especially want to start removing wheels, tyres, and changing inner tubes on the hard shoulder.
Motul P3 aerosol claims that you simply re-inflate the flat tyre with this foam substance, it says it does the job, has anyone used it for an emergency get you home after a flat?

Its shite.

Tyre repair places hate it and they'll bleat that they can't repair the tyre once that jiz has contacted the inside of the tyre.

I use a compound called Puncturesafe.
You put it into the tyre when it's new.

It is great stuff.

You don't usually repair the tyre anyway with a tubed one. You pull the nail out and change the tube. They are invariably either snakebites or slits in them anyway.

Yes, that kind of thing has got me home. You need to ride on it for it to start working though. Which can be a bit hairy!

I'd stick Oko XT dirt bike in the tubes before you start though. Designed for tubed dirt bikes. A himalayan isn't going to be going fast enough to cause a problem with it.

Note: some sealants (and foams) will dissolve the adhesive in some patches. So any old repairs may leak.

Puncturesafe (and the similar product Ultraseal) were made aware of this and modified the formula.

Another great idea is to try to steer away from the detritus between the tyre tracks on all roads.
If a thing can damage a Tyre it will either be picked up by a tyre or flicked out into the areas where tyres don't pass.
Council responsibility to brush roads to remove this bit cut-backs.

Further opinions on Motul P3, phoned local bike workshop, don't touch it, absolute crap, doesn't work, made another call to the RE dealer workshop, oh yes, it's fine and will get you home, the person that I spoke to has used it three times with success, down side is that it is very messy, the form sticks to the inside of the rim, the tyre and spokes and is a bugger to clean off.
So I will get one as emergency measure and if I have to use let you know how I get on.

Is it possible to go tubeless?
I've seen Harley riders do it on spoked wheels, although it looks like a fair bit of faffing about with sealing tapes etc.
I don't know if it's even viable on a "trail" bike.
