Good for you, Mrs Suntan.
Those are exactly similar reasons as to why I am enjoying keto so much.

Last week I noticed that I have considerably more energy than I used to.
I'm still a lazy cow, but when I do want to be energetic, it comes more easily than it used to. Its much easier to change your mindset when you can still eat a lot of the stuff you like, it doesn't feel like "punishment". I dislike the diet program that calls them "sins". They can F.R.O. so far as I am concerned. Keto works fine.

And no horrid stomach-destroying surgery.
Cool

Why, thank you HK. I concur both on Keto and on the sin thing. Food is food, not sin. Murder is a sin. Taking a country into an illegal war or a dishonest withdrawal from a single market are sins. Not cakes.

That said, I’m quite curious about “Dirty Keto”. Might look into that next Laughing

Uh ohhhh ... now I need to know what that is, too.
Laughing

Edit: okay, have googled, and now place myself firmly on the fence between Lazy Keto and Dirty Keto Laughing

Yeah, that's me too. I'm calling it "Slightly Grubby" Keto.

I like the sound of that, Missus.
It has the correct amount of roguishness about it.
A rakish title: down to earth but with a hint of devil-may-care

I'm currently on a 'fuk keto, is crissmuss innit' diet
so dropping to a more relaxed tier 1 carb restriction for a week or so.
I haven't bought boxes of doughnuts sweeties and beer or anything too drastic
but as its midwinter and not my favourite time of year
I shall have a brief moratorium and emerge from my
biscuit crumb and pizza crust infested den in the new year
ready to rejoin the battle.

The days will soon become longer, and that is something to celebrate. Dance!

I have a whole chocolate yule log carefully sliced into portions and individually wrapped in clingfilm, in the freezer Laughing

I may or may not have over indulged this last week or so.
But not nearly the way I used to.

Blow-out for me this week was having half a pizza AND a piece of panettone. All those carbs in one meal Shocked

I may spend a week or two eating thrice-daily microwave diet meals as some form of penance.

And then perhaps a little nourishing gruel.

6ft and 14st 11lbs at the moment and that's simply not good. I am broad framed but there's excess weight around ma belly and that's got Type 2 written all over it.

Why?

Well, I've put on about a stone since last year because my back decided to shat its discs and leave me all cripple like. Problem is I've got to get the weight off to help with the disc problem but I've got no chance when I'm a cripple without giving up food and that turns me to drink, and drink puts on the rubber ring waistline.

God is a reet fecker.

Sit rep.

Used lockdown to sort my fecking life out. Dragged this thing out - a lot - in the summer:

Ensured I went for a walk of an hour at least each day. This helped my back too, especially being WFH with no so great equipment setup.

14st 11lbs became 15st 1lb at my heaviest before I pulled the trigger and said no more.

12st 12 was my target BMI weight. 12st 13lbs is what I've made it down to at my lowest weight so far. That's crept a little over the last couple of weeks to 13st 2lbs but pretty confident when Christmas period finishes and we're back to normality I can dip under that 12st 12lbs marker Thumbs Up

Some time in between Christmas and New Year I happened to be in a circumstance where I could weigh myself, so I did, and it was scary.

So I figured I might as well consider goals and I've set a target or two.

Mind you - I reweighed myself today, almost a month later - and since New Years Day I have only managed to lose four pounds. Which is still a loss, but I should really have lost at least half a stone by now Rolling Eyes

Oh well, crack on.
Best behave myself a bit harder Laughing

Turns out I've lost another 6 lb over this last month.
Despite being a bit of a little bugger now and then.
Could have been more, though, if I had been trying harder.

I'm on the verge of allowing myself to buy a set of bathroom scales (something I have not owned for well over 40 years) and may soon even be able to venture into the previously uncharted territory of motorcycle boot-buying Shocked

Note to self:
Licking the sauce off Morleys BBQ Sticky Wings does not constitute one of your five a day.
