Good plan. Some tips to make that stick:

Decide on your target time, and stick to it every single night (including weekends...I know it sucks!) So for me I don't have another drink or anything to eat after 19.00hrs. I only sip water and/or chew gum.

Brushing your teeth pretty soon after your designated time will also help put a full stop on your onward eating.

If you aim to not eat for up to 13hrs over that night time period, it should definitely help. But also make sure you have a decent breakfast, and don't ever skip breakfast. Some people find that a mug of hot water with a slice of lemon is a great way to boost your metabolism in a morning.

Don't end the day with heavy carbohydrates. If you are planning to have a jacket potato or pasta or similar, have it earlier.

Good luck. Thumbs Up

My progress has stalled a bit too.
Been hovering around the 94kg mark this last two weeks
so the downward curve on the chart has flat lined.
Mea culpa
My resolve had weakened and I bought 2 large packets of chocolate digestives
and some comfort food items on impulse
Oh the shame!, the tasty tasty shame!

One thing I did notice was how much sleep affected me.
If I've slept well I can usually go all day without feeling hungry
or snackish so no need to call on my microscopic will power.
One day after a poor nights sleep, I was craving food and snacks
all that day.
Slept well the next night and back to normal again.

Did quick google and found this.

30th may, week 18 of 26.
92.1Kg so some progress being made after something of a 'stall'
I'm keen to break 90Kg and see how far towards the low 80s I can get
in 26 weeks/6 months.

Smile Since "lockdown" I have lost a bit. If I can get to 90Kg I will be happy. I don't envisage going below 85 as I don't think I can without losing a lot of muscle, but will see how it goes.

I've lost a stone to somewhere around 90kg.

Not from any hard work I'm sorry to say, I just have no appetite and haven't been eating much.

I have made a mistake. I bought some milk on Friday. I also bought come cream crackers, and some cheese, and some milk chocolate. I need not have done, I have not had the latter things for about a month. I have not had any bread since the start of lockdow, and I'm not starting again right now. I have 3 pats of butter in the 'fridge, which have also been there for a while. I am wondering what to do with them.

Worth a try, if I can find a cheap enough one. I've got used to a lot of changes in food lately.

I had forgotten all about this, but got some honey in today and tried it. You know, I prefer it instantly to sugar. And only one teaspoon of honey where I was having two teaspoons of sugar Smile

So cheers Shaft! Thumbs Up

Just need to keep control of the chocolate digestive biscuits now Laughing

16st-5lb?
Not too bad as long as you're 6'9" tall Laughing

I got a warning I was heading towards pre diabetes if I continued to be a
lazy fat bastard at 106.5 kg/16st-12lb @ 6'2" hence my low carb diet.
91.2KG / 14st-5lb this morning after 18-19 weeks.
All this with virtually bugger all exercise in the lockdown.

Re diabetes:
Not a doc or any kind of expert but
my understanding is there's no on/off switch for type 2 Diabetes
ie you dont catch it like a cold, you develop it by poor diet and
the usual ensuing weight gain ( see obesity epidemic)
Also its well documented many people have reversed their type 2 by going the Low carb/Keto/Paleo route

Butter?
Good stuff
Keep it and throw away the sugar, carbs and junk food stuff instead
I eat fat all the time and I'm still losing weight.
I'd happily eat a kebab but just throw away the pitta bread.
When it reopens, I'll be having fry ups at the local cafe, just no bread or baked beans.

I'll admit to falling off the wagon and gobbling junk food at times which has
stalled progress and not as strict a low carber as I could be, but nevertheless
my weight is still going in the right direction.
All my 40" and 38" pants need braces now or they wont stay up, I took this as a sign of
improvement and encouragement to keep at it.
I can see my willy again now too!
(that was an emotional reunion, I rushed for the tissues....)

When I start to feel podgy. I make a conscious decision to get by each day with a tin of soup. Normally lose a stone in about 2-3 weeks depending on how much sugary liquids I drink in the meantime.

I'm very similar to you, 6'3 and 16 stone 3 pounds currently.

DO NOT GET HUNG UP ON THE BMI.

As WD says you would have to be 6'9 for that to not say songs about eating pie.

As far as I'm concerned BMI stands for Bollocks Mass Index.

As a scientist I can say that an index should be unit less, BMI (Height / Mass Squared) is not.

Yes, it can be used as an indicator, but if you in anyway autistic and get hung up on the range 18-25 (as I once did) , that can be bad for your health.
Karen Carpenter had a BMI of 18 when she died, of anorexia.

Not to hung up on it, meh!.
I’d like to be a bit lighter and a bit fitter, however for my age and lifestyle I’m not doing so bad Thumbs Up

I’m more concerned about lung function: I’d like to not get puffed out as quickly as I do.
Again, compared to a good few of my friends of a similar age, I don’t do so bad.

I never used to get hung up on it - but now I'm 13st 6lbs versus 14st 13lbs (lockdown had quite the reverse effect on me to most people) I'm looking at myself thinking I could lose another half stone easy. That would put me at 12st 12lbs which is bang on the top of my BMI weight scale.

Admittedly I was apparently obese at nearly 15 stone - and I never thought I was. But I'd say now even the slimmer me is overweight in reality.

You lot are a lanky bunch but I'll settle for the trade-off of having biceps the thickness of your thighs. Laughing
I've been pre-diabetic for eons, but then I've also had high blood pressure since my teens despite being a bit of a fit bastard (back then).
5'10" and currently 108.8kg's, be nice to hit a trim 90kgs again. Laughing

BMI has never had any relevance to me. I've only once hit 'normal', when I was 18 and basically lived on a tin of cold beans a day for a month and walking the South West Way, I managed to get down to 70kgs, looked skeletal (probably due to a bout of water poisoning a week before finishing) and put on 8kgs in the week that I returned home...

Oof, my eyes, Googling that name should come with an NSFW tag!

I can proudly say that my biceps came from the results of a misspent youth and years of honest hard graft.

I keep coming back to diet and exercise in fits and starts but I think i'm finally on a route to glory.

Exercise
I've been doing 100 press ups a day for the past 4 weeks (2x sets 50), I'm cycling 10-14 miles daily up a mountain. And I have just started an app called home workout which is calesthnics. Also every other day i'm doing pull ups, each set until failure and stopping at 20 total.

Key to exercise is a bet with my brother. We have a whatsapp group and are both putting updates of what we're doing daily. Whoever gets J-j-j-j-Jacked the quickest gets to slap the other one as hard as they can to the face. I one day i'm not feeling up to it, all it takes is an update from him showing the workout he's done and a slap icon and i'm straight off the couch.

FOOD
No refined sugar, nothing made with white flower as it's basically sugar. No bread. Treats are whole earth peanut butter and apple slices and most meals are meat and veg.

In the past month i've lost over a stone. He's lost 2 stone but he's bigger than me. My body shape is changing, I can feel musles popping out where they've never been before, and my fat rolls are starting to turn into the shape of abs, like abs with padding. Currently at 14stone 6, 5 foot 7. My 36 inch waist jeans are now falling down.

Having a competitive weightloss challenge is helping massively.
