This will be her last MOT as in October she will be 40 years old and can move to Historic status whereby she will be Tax and MOT exempt, whereupon "she" will become an illustrative and noisy example for those who wish to campaign for the repeal of the currently tolerant and liberal historic vehicle rules.

These beard-worriers conveniently forget that while one is not required to submit a historic vehicle for a yearly MoT inspection it still needs to be roadworthy Rolling Eyes

I wouldn't trust it.

I can see a bit of a crack along the right side of the swingarm, which is obviously where an extra section of steel was welded. It might be OK but then again it might not be OK. I don't like the rear shock mount. The weld looks more like one of my attempts than the work of someone who's had the proper training, and the entire downward force goes down on that weld. The weld bead is the most brittle part of a welded piece, so I don't know if that's good enough there. The routing of the rear brake light activation spring (which goes to the switch) is "interesting". As is the swingarm bolt which extends too far to the other side and which may be from another bike. Does it have the right bearings inside? Who knows, but I doubt it. Bikes this old often have a seized swingarm bolt, so the original may have been cut out, and a bit of weld and filler hidden the repair. The rear wheel - don't know if that's the original but it has a massively oversized tyre on it. He's spray painted both wheels all black, and there's nothing wrong with that, except that he's also gone over the spoke nipples with spray paint, which doesn't fill me with confidence that he (the guy who did all this) knew what he was doing. Plus, I can't see clearly but those look like tubeless tyres on a tube-type wheel. Downright dangerous if so. Tubeless tyres on tube-type rim, and oversized? Could kill someone.

I think you'll find 'Cutom' are a specialist engineering team working from an old abattoir near Dawlish Warren - and this indeed is a fine example of their work.

From a British bikers point of view it is miserable so not sure ebay is right sales channel. Sure does look expensive though.. Not my cup o tea but someone that spends their time drink skinny lattes in the Bike Shed will love it

I like it. Obviously that doesn't mean I would ever buy or ride a chop but I do like them.

That's not a chucked together, angle grinded Honda superdream with a brown seat, it's a nicely done custom bike. That said, he should finish it and get it road legal if all that is left to is what he says.

Shit at that price, I am not surprised that it comes with the belt-grinder attachment.

Google translates
'Ran out of time and the inclination to finish'.
as
I've fucked it up as much as I can now its time for someone else to carry on the mutilations

Babelfish translates as: "I came to my senses."

Translate.com translates as: "You kids just don't know what that stuff that was going round in the late 90s was really like - it blew your head off!"

Reverso translates as: "I should have started with a Diversion."

Collins tranlates: "My foray into the world of custom bike building didn't go quite as planned, and now I want to experience what it must be like to be the invisible man in my neighbourhood."

All joking aside, what a story that bike tells...
Started with the handlebar and seat. Very optimistic! And that seat base... Poor sod ruined his decent Hornet, which was all the bike he ever really needed, at the end of the day. Expensive lesson to learn.

It's like a build from an episode of Scrap Heap Challenge that took place in a washing machine factory somewhere on the outskirts of Stalingrad circa January 1943.
