As an antidote to poncy overpriced twattery.

I Love this one and larfed me arse off as soon as I saw it
and can imagine tootling about on it with a big daft grin on me face

( I wouldn't pay two and a half grand for it though,
I don't love it that much)

I decided this guys ad copy needed upgrading

Come buy my BMW R65 artistically reworked with subtle
brown seat and bar and mirrors to match the shit brown tank.
Minimal front and non existant rear mudguards were carefully designed to allow the chunky tyres to throw shit all over the engine, paper pod filters and leather battery straps
( and probably everywhere else too)
Illegal, bad boy retro looking number plate
Stupid bright headlight so you dont have to go to specsavers
and rub shoulders with council estate scum and smelly old people.
Bandages on the exhaust echo the subtle brown theme
As you can see its not actually useful so lets call it an ornament.
One often overlooked aspect of this type of bike is safety
As it's so unsuitable for normal motorcycling, you wont be
able to ride it much and therefore less likely to have an accident!
Cool eh?

I spent thousands on this £1000 bike now its someone elses turn to wonder WTF where they thinking and despair.
Dont think! buy it now before someone else regrets it!!

“The frame was redesigned at the rear end then sent for power coating”

Like power rangers?

“New rental bars”

Do they have to be returned?

“New and modified exhaust fully rapped”

By Tinchy Stryder?

Is a no from me sorry.

Can someone enlighten me as to what the tank decals are? I’ve ruled out the IoM and the Cheeseburgering.

That mess mesh might look good at about 5 yards but... nope, I've tried it as an exhaust shield and it's horrible. And as a mudguard?! "Dude, WTF?"

In his favour, I think he chose the right bike, to get that out of his system. Yes, he's trashed it. But it's still a good collection of parts for someone, or else a fairly easy project to put back to (relatively) normal. He's asking crazy money for it, so maybe he needs a bit more time for sobriety to settle in though. Laughing

He knows how junk those cafe seats are, now. He will never go near them again. And no rare/classic has been destroyed in this exercise. The engines on those are really robust and strong, and plentiful. Original exhaust on it - that's unusual to see, now.

I think if I was going to rat a Diversion just for looks, I would probably keep the tail end nice and tail-ish, and upswept. Plus put in an RF600 or Bandit 600 rear wheel. That would look OK.

I'm fairly sure he won't be rat/cafeing any bike in the future. The experience was probably worth something. I mean, some things are obviously just a really bad idea but if there's a chance you might find yourself man of the hour at the local halls of residence (he's based in Newcastle-under-Lyme so I think a university is nearby) you might try them out anyway. I don't know... Anyway, at least it was just a Diversion.

Well quite. Let's hope hes got it out of his system and doesn't attempt to fukc anything else more valuable up..

To rat a divvy just dunk the whole unit in a tank of mat black paint and let it drip dry, no?

Yes, I'd go with that. Do as little as possible with it and it would get the rat bike look. You could even scratch the "cheap Ebay bits" itch and fit a few out-of-place parts. Although I think the frames don't suit chopping and bobbing at all... They just don't look right if they're chopped down.

Can't remember where I got this pic, but here's a ridiculous ratted Diversion:

https://i.ibb.co/ky4VkF8/main-photo.png

Absurd thing to do, but I think it's just been raised, seat modified and off-road bars fitted. If you raise the rear that's sort of the opposite of the look that "cafe racers" try to affect. A Diversion is never going to have even a pseudo-Brit cafe bike look.

'best bike builders in the UK' my arse
says who?
I wouldn't let them clean grass cuttings out of a lawn mower with a stick
if that's their idea of 'best'

I just see a stupid waste of money for more form over function crap

illegal numberplate (of course) for starters - twats
exhaust exits just under the arse breaker seat - WTF? - twats
(Oh hang on, no one is ever going to actually seriously ride this thing, ok then)
is that the battery down low and unprotected just in front of the rear wheel? - twats
Little to no mudgaurds of course - twats
virtually useless mirror position, why bother at all? - twats

fifteen fahsand quid?
Rupees maybe

few if any on these things are actually of proven suitability are they?
We see the artistically posed photos, have to plow through the nauseating copy, "much loved" "hand made by local craftsmen" bullshit
But none have actually done any real world road time.

Few will, because these numptys have painted themselves into a corner by pouring idiotic amounts of money into the preening and polishing and daren't take them on the road and use them as say
motorcycles for fear of getting them dirty, devalueing them and showing them up for what they are.

I read it as 'ENEMA' motorcycles on first glance Very Happy

And who wouldn't want their remote oil tank heated by exhaust gases? Kerwality design that, seems like a great idea.

Edit, and it's given me a good idea of what I want for tea, chicken strips! Mr. Green

Having the exhaust gasses deliberately exit in to a turbulent air zone
seems like utter stupidity to me.
You could easily get Carbon Monoxide poisoning from that setup

FTFY Smile

Of course you can have an underseat exhaust, loads of bikes have them. For example:

https://d12htqhbbqmaik.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/honda_cbr600rr-09-12-mgp-2-600x600.png

But notice how far back the pipe exits. Okay so manufacturers are twats with cats and killing the noise but the actual placement and routing is done for a reason Rolling Eyes

Why does it need such a large oil tank? I know I’m a noob to biking and mechanics, etc but it’s confusing me why it needs a dedicated oil tank. For lubing the chain?
