There will be lots of false dawns with regard to effective treatment and vaccines, we may never find a vaccine, and that is the premise on which we should base how we deal with covid-19 going forward. If a effective vaccine is found, can be mass produced, at a relatively low cost, then that's a bonus, but it's certainly not a given. Society needs to learn to live with the virus, but, we can't keep hiding away from it, that's just not feasible. The trouble is, the government and media, cultivated and promoted a mass fear of the virus, and is only now beginning how difficult it is going to be to roll back from that.

Headline: "HCQ to be given proactively to more than 40,000 healthcare workers in the UK"

It's interesting, isn't it. We see the headline, but then the video says "40,000 worldwide".

Then we have results of studies such as this one:

Different virus, in vitro.

Some people in Singapore have calculated, apparently, that we will be free of the virus in the UK around late September:

There's a whole lot of information out there, all of it fantastically interesting...

Look at some of the later reports which directly contradict that report.

I can see why people want an easy magic bullet - cure, "big pharma won't like it" - etc., however, I'm not interested in attracting another load of d'gonk warfare.

The first time Jack travelled to India to see his bestest mate settled into his new job, Jack can distinctly remember that one of the first things his bestest ever mate did was to confiscate the anti-malaria drugs.

That would have been hydropoxychloroquine, or whatever name it goes by.

Basically, contracting malaria is much safer.

Thou dust not know, nor can thou ever comprehend, the true destructive power of the big pharma.

And politicians and their ilk keep on giving fuel to the idea they are above the rules.....

Coronavirus: Dominic Cummings 'made second lockdown trip'

Personally I couldn't give a flying fuck if he went to his parents house or his second property or whatever. I'm sure he practiced better isolation that the utter mongs you see in Tescos wearing masks and still picking their noses.

However if you think you can get away with whatever in this day and age you are an idiot and if you think you can lie about it you are an even bigger one.

Downing Street has also denied that police spoke with family members of Mr Cummings "about this matter". But Durham Police insist their officers spoke to Mr Cummings' father, who confirmed that his son had travelled with his family from London.

Someone's telling porkys. If Boris is sensible he'll drop him quicker than whores drawers on a Saturday night but the way the cabinet is lining up to protect him, Rolling Eyes Idiots.

But we digress.

There was no news other than the boring corona news so any other sensationalism to sell papers or to get your media organisation pushed to the forefront is more than welcome for these arseholes.
What does it change if Cummings is ejected?

Although I should, I find it hard to care about the outcome of this particular spat. I think what Cummings did was wrong and he knows/knew it, but it's obvious some left-wing journos have been digging for dirt on him, and that's how political opposition works these days. You don't debate the issues of the day, win the argument and gain the support of the public, you tear down the government bit by bit with tittle-tattle.

Still, you'd think Special Advisors (spads) would have expertise in certain areas. Not if Cummings is anything to go by. He's a political advisor on... whatever you want. Those people ought to run for election or join the civil service if they want to be part of government. That way they'd be accountable in the way Cummings isn't.

To be fair, all it really highlights is that the lockdown was brought in so the lowest common denominator in society is catered for. If the bulk of the population was bright enough to stick to social/physical distancing and basic hygiene, there would never have been the need for a lockdown in the first place. Instead, we now have a bulk of the population that are shit scared of virtually their own shadow if it's not wearing a mask !!

Personally I don't care that he made the trip, and as polarbear said, he probably maintained social distancing better than anything you see in any number of supermarkets...

I think the best thing to do is just go out and suck somebody's face off, get it over with, get the doubt over with. If you haven't had it yet, and you don't know if it would be bad for you if you got it, just get out there and do everything you can to get it. Go to your local hospital and lick the faces of people on ventilators. Let's get this thing sorted out, get rid of the fear.

You want to get back to work? Why, because you love your job so much? So give up biking so you can spend that much more time at work. Or because you need to make money to live on? Well, maybe, if you've got a viable business to go back to. But no one will be left that can afford the products or services you're peddling. Wait till the high taxes hit that are needed to pay for this economic meltdown. Who's going to be able to afford to do anything? Who's going to be able to afford to pay their employees a decent wage?

And for what anyway? Go look in the politics section. What is there to live for anymore anyway? Your next rant about Trump, or climate change, or Dominic Fucking Cummings? Or how about the Geek section? The next iPhone or video game is going to make your life so much better? Wow, what a fucking fantastic life you must have!

Or maybe you're waiting for Elon Musk to make living on Mars a reality. Yeah, great, live on a barren desert planet with a worse lockdown than we've got here now, when you go outside, if you haven't put on some really severe PPE, there's no doubt, no wondering...that's it, you're dead, no ifs or buts.

Fuck it, you're not kidding yourself that you're not going to die someday. Today's as good a day as any. And if you don't get sick, well, that's a bonus Smile

Some people having fun with Dominic Cummings' visit to Barnard Castle.

https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g190814-d2048791-Reviews-Barnard_Castle-Barnard_Castle_County_Durham_England.html

Oh, and apparently two trips coincided with family birthdays so I've changed my mind, he should be sacked.
