So. Turning over, but not starting.

Having intermittent starting issues, and the flashing is indicating Error 19, which is ignition to ECU error.

Forum checking says the barrel is faulty, or the White/Black wire is dodgy.

So, armed with my multimeter and haynes manual at hand, I took a look.

Determined that the barrel is faulty, intermittent.

Looking at haynes, I can see no reason but to bypass the switch for the ECU wire. (See picture) and short it.

The ECU does not have power unless the main ignition is on, and the purpose of the White/Black wire is in serial to ground through the stand sensor.

I don't see why this could be an issue??? Thoughts..

I will order a new barrel, but now this is a temp fix that won't cause issues?

Side stand switch is a common cause of problems, bypass that before sodding about with the barrel.

It's a common issue, several threads on here about it that I can think of. Mine was starting to be silly just before it was nicked, hastening the replacement of the barrel.

Barrel replacement cures it - bike is still in use with a local training school.
