Can anyone recommend a decent hi-rez monitor for gaming?

I prefer a shape as square as possible.

Also what's people's experience with curved monitors? Are they better for gaming or not really?

Looking to spend about £100, maybe more. That's the going rate in PC world.

You ain’t gonna get much for 100 quid, certainly nothing curved. Did you mean 1000?

'A' monitor for £100 yes but 'gaming' monitor no... base would be 1080p >100Hz refresh, 24 to 27"

For example:

Personally I'd think you'd want to nudge towards 2K for a 27"

Yeah, £100 is not great.

I play competitively so I spend what I need, I'd suggest saving at least £300, closer to 400.

I run a curved ultrawide also which is fantastic for day to day use but you'll be wanting (depending on the games and pc spec) 100hz 1080p, if your rig is not capable of that though, a 60hz 1080 will be fine. Just caps you at 60fps.

If budget is anything up to £200 these are great, https://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-XL2411P-Sports-Adjustable-eQualizer/dp/B075JGL4WV/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?keywords=100hz+gaming+monitor&qid=1583309984&sprefix=100hz&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzOEdDN0ZDOUtBS0RXJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNDA0ODM1MU4yVERCSFlUSkZSNiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUExMDA0NTYxMk1VRk1JRkNWSTIzJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

What's the point in curved at that size though? Also, I bet you lose a fair bit of image quality for them to add the curve at that price.

I wouldn't buy a curved under 27 inch. I also wouldn't buy anything under 120hz but I play competitively so frames and shit kinda matter. For others, not so much but it's far smoother at 100+
