Hello there - first post from a newbie .... Just wanted to know if anyone on here knows or can recommend a good bike electrician, I've finally decided I need some help. So any recommendations are welcome.

The thing to do is to say what the problem is, and what has been done so far if anything, and see if anyone i the workshop can help!

I've been trying to sort out the lights, ignition switch for months and finally given up, so hopefully after some guidance / advice. The bike runs as long as it doesn't go through the master switch. No lights work and I want to add a back brake switch if i can actually get anything else to work.
So far I've replaced the wiring loom, ignition switch assembly, have new bulbs and bought a new battery. Bike is 1975 Ural M66.

Um. There used to be a "Ural Owners Club", which may have been subsumed by the Cossack Owners Club. Years ago I joined (when Frank Dougan was about, but he might not be about any more, unfortunately, can't find him on t'net). I've still got an M63 somewhere, and possibly a manual for it, but I don't know how relevant that is to an M66. Does your bike have a 12V conversion (if they weren't normally 12V)? What's the "master switch", I seem to remember that mine has a bakelite turn switch and a nonstandard (car?) paddle switch for the lights. Can't remember whether it has a key or not.

Edit: I might be inclined to fire off an email to the Cossack Owners Club, there's an address on their website, and ask whether they've any ideas or know someone tha might.

Thanks for the reply, already asked the Cossack owners, and currently trying to work through their advice.

The M66 doesn't have the switch, it has a type of key and thats what doesn't seem to work and it is a 6v system.
