just wondering, I was planning to go do a europe tour this year, as this is first year in my life that I have a full bikers license...but ......the hell......I spend a wad of money doing the bike training and getting the license, and the fancy bike. Then, the one year that I have great plans, worldwide travel looks like it is going down the pan as at some point everyone will be in quarantine and borders closed, and it will be like the scene from mad max where everyone be having to survive by eating dog food from old rusty cans and ....ok, I maybe going a bit over the top there.

Anyway, have any of you been personally impacted (like me) by this lovely bug in to regards to biker trips this year? If so, how to plan to cope, do you plan to go in the hoter months (hope summer, by then the virus would have gone them) or are you going to wait to next year?

I currently only do daily ride outs so no it won't affect where i go unless the authorities decide to put some kind of curfew in place and put the country under severe quarantine Laughing

At this rate I doubt it will be long before the virus fully rife everywhere, so there'll be no point in closing borders. And by the time the weather warms up - peak touring time - the infection rates will likely drop off dramatically (how often do you hear of people getting flu in the summer?)

Unless it kills me, and it’s still around in the late summer in Wales, it won’t affect me.

Even a virus doesn’t want to hang around in Wales Laughing

Only if it affects flights to Sweden, other than that, no reason why it should

Planning to go to Normandy in mid/late April. Still planning to go unless they stop the Poole - Cherbourg ferry. If that happens I'll might do Lands End - JOG on the Enfield, food won't be as good as Normandy though.

Hardly, the nipper has gone to Poland today, and we're still planning on the ice hotel in April, until the government of either country says no, we're all still going

Planning to the NC500 in May; probably quite significant virus impacts by then (potentially) but hopefully remote corners of Scotland will still want the business.

I see these big mass tours around the place but we prefer to do our own thing.

In groups you tend to be pushed along by the group's agenda.
I'm not anti-social per se but that sort of adventure doesnt bode well with MCN or any of his crew.

🤣

It gets a bit of lashing from press now a days too.

For the first time in years we've no plans to go to Europe. Normally we'd have had the ferries booked months ago.

When typing the above didn't anticipate Le Frogs shutting Restaurants and Cafe's. Plans cancelled unless they are open again by mid April.

Ferry booked for an early June raz through the Pico's and Pyrenees, unfortunately Brittany Ferries have taken the Plymouth-Santander boat off-line until end of April so anyone guess when it's reinstated Thumbs Down

My AirBnB for the NC500 has been cancelled (mid-May) so I guess that's the first domino falling over . . . time to cancel the other bookings. Thankfully all are fully refundable, not that it gives the places we were staying in much help! Those remote corners of Scotland virtually survive solely on tourism.
