Today's phone in outrage is people who are clearing the supermarket shelves of everything from bogroll to macaroni. Don't even try to find hand sanitiser!

You'll be relieved to know that here at Suntan Towers, we still have our no-deal Brexit stockpile of beer, gin,Fray Bentos pies, corned beef, Smash, tinned veg, powdered milk and much much more.

Oh how some of you scorned me at the time!

Seriously though, here in rural Wales the two local supedmarkets, as of yesterday, were still fully stocked. I dont think the Welsh read the news, everyone seemed quite chilled.

Has panic hit BCF and their nearest and dearest yet? anyone going to admit to stockpiling?

People in my town seemed to have cleared the local supermarket of all the pasta and the rice. I won't lie, when I go shopping, I normally purchase a couple of bags of pasta to last about two weeks, but for some reason I brought a whole months supply last night, not because I am scared of the virus or quarantine, but I was scared that everyone else would cause pasta to run out due to panic buying, so I countered their panic buying........ with panic buying of my own.....makes sence Thinking

Plenty of rum on my boat, some food as well. I'm going to get a shed load of Bombay Bad boys today and then fuel up the boat. 160 litre fuel tank and 30 litres of jerry cans.

I have 3 months supply of my heart tablets, vitamin pills and lots of paracetamol.

Anti zombie weapons.

I'm sorted. Thumbs Up

Bog roll on the other hand......

If we still had newspapers regularly we wouldn't need bogroll.

Stockpiling? On my income? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha etc

This Coronavirus is definitely highly contagious though. It's creeping into every thread and mutating in to new ones every day.

ASDA sold out of handwash and Ibuprofen but my local Lidl yesterday had loads of handwash at 50p a bottle and Wilko had loads of 40p Ibuprofen!

It's not an issue of there not being enough food, there definitely will be plenty, the issue is whether at the height of a pandemic when the NHS is stretched past breaking point, do you want to go to Tesco and maybe catch coronavirus. If you have complications from the virus and are over 65 the lack of resources at the peak could put you in a very precarious situation compared to normal. Pneumonia probably isn't going to kill you but if there aren't enough ventillators then maybe it will.

If panic buying happens it will be when the government announces a quarantine so now is the time to get your shopping IMO. You really just need to have what you would otherwise normally need for 2-3 weeks. If you going to have to avoid public places then you want to do so comfortably right? So beers, burgers, chips stuff like that. You can use anything to wash your hands (e.g washing up liquid), the only important thing is that you do wash your hands with something during the pandemic, even body wash or something. Paracetamol/Ibuprofen are probably a good choice but you will need a reasonable amount. Daily dose of paracetamol is 8 tablets per person per day so you would need at least 3 packs per person. And you can only buy 2 packs at a time...

In terms of what to stockpile more generally thin plain value bleach is 40p per bottle, you can use this to treat water, without water you will literally die. Dying because you don't have a teaspoon of bleach for a few litres of water would be truly insane.

That doesn't work with the Guardian because it is already fully saturated with shlt.

It's gone beyond stockpiling, and reached looting from hospitals...

Went shopping today. It's such a painful experience, I tend to do it once every 3 weeks and live mainly out of a feezer, even for milk and bread etc.

The number of chavs with 2 trolleys loaded to the brim was startling. It took me twice as long to get around and through the checkouts today. The silly thing is, we're a few weeks off peak infection yet, so most of the sh1t they were buying will have gone off by then.

No cure for stupid.

ASDA didn't have any of their own brand moist toilet wipes.
They also didn't have any hot cross buns, but I asked the handy helper and she got some for me from round the back.

Bought some Tesco's hot cross buns and discovered they were salted caramel and chocolate chip abominations.
The shop was fully stocked in the bog roll aisle, and the tea aisle was only short of Yorkshire Tea because they had a deal on. Is it any good?

Similar to you, had panic bought in time for October Brexit, topped up for January Brexit, then just a little more in the last month.

If it all blows over, if we don't get locked in for weeks at a time. Happy days. I'll just be eating a lot of tuna (survived Covid-19, died from Mercury poisoning).

Guildford Sainsburys was out of:
Hand Sanitiser
Loo Roll
Tampons

But we weren't overly keen on healthy food, shelves full of veg.

You probably *could* wipe your arse with a hot cross bun, though... Thinking ... if you really had to.

Damn things. I still have loads of them which I never got round to using, too old for that now, and no girls left in the house to use them up. I was thinking of packaging them up for refugees.

But maybe I can sell them on eBay for a fortune Shifty
