One of those huh... Thinking moments. I'm sure I used to get on the Keeyway differently to the Rebel. Maybe something to do with the topbox.

So long as I don't trip over my penis again I'm not really bothered how I get on.

If I'm getting it out of it's lockup in the morning, I have to get from the "wrong" side, trying not to smash into the Viffer next to it.

Anywhere else, just swing leg over , irrespective of which bike it is.- That said, I'm 6'3, not many bikes make me do a ballet impression to get on them.

simples, Bend knee, swing over. Making sure that I get on the bike on the left hand side, and not doing the mistake that I did when doing my cbt by getting on the bike on the right hand side and falling off it (when the stand was up)

I voted running jump on the pole through, as I knew no one else would Mr. Green

With my trail bike I often stand on a peg like the stirrup getting on a horse because it's only marginally less tall.

I do that thing like how old men used to get on push bikes, when I get on my klx. So I put it in first with my right foot, pull the clutch in, put my left foot on the left peg, feed some revs in, let the clutch out to bite, and as soon as its moving, cock a right leg over and fuck off into the sun set like Graham Jarvis's great great grandad.

You wouldn't get that earlier reference of Nobby's, being a recent member, but basically you'd flick your right leg up - goosestep stylee - and swing it over the front of the bike.

Ambitious, considering the furniture on the front of most bikes, but technically possible Smile

Should I add a vaulting option: running at the back of the bike, grabbing the pillion rails and launching yourself onto the seat... or is that covered by running jump?

Trademark Hailwood "crossed legs" push-start technique in Grand Prix races where you had to start stood next to the bike with the engine off. He'd be round the first corner before he got on the bike properly.

Depends. I'm not the tallest so I normally take it off the centre stand, turn the bars to the right and lean it over a little then just swing my leg over. If I have loads of gear strapped on the back then I sort of do a front kick over the seat and slide on. Typically with the CRF.

Is that a thing? I would be worried about the side stand collapsing. Probably an unfounded fear, but I'm still getting used to this bike shit

It depends how much luggage is on there. Fully laden 100% goosestep a la mpd.
No luggage, I just sit on it like any normal person would who isn't shorter than 5' 5".
