Saw the xr today and thought it looked ok. The r could be good. However, getting off a 790 duke, it would have to be something special to tempt me away from the ktm. Especially with a few knocking around for 6.5k!

Test rode the f900xr the other day. Was ok, but didnt make me think "wow". Quite agricultural, even for a parallel twin, couldnt help thinking if it was like that with 30 miles on the clock, whats it like further down the road. It was quite light getting around town though i didnt get on with the auto cancelling indicators. Maybe thats just familiarity with bmw tech that comes with time. Got back on the tedium after and felt the xr didnt do anythint different to justify the 10k

I went to have a nosey up at the BMW showroom. They had the XR but not the R which is what I was wanting to see. Im not sure what the point of the xr is. It looks a bit agricultural actually.

After the BMW showroom I popped by the Honda/Yamaha dealer and there was a cracking VFR which if it wasn't for the current Viral shinanigins was very close to prying open my wallet.
