I picked up my first Adventure motorcycle from Mitchells in Inverness and got caught in a blizzard heading home to Ullapool. Roads were white apart from the brown trail behind my bike lol, 15 miles of swearing, laughing and praying.

Looks awesome, are there many trails in Scotland? My understand was there was not a huge amount of BOAT's about.

Very limited tbh unlike England and Wales but there are some bits here and there.

Thanks, nearly binned it a few times off-roading, going from gravel to mud and my tyres go to slicks, got a lot to learn but i really enjoying that part of it.

The bike is light on the road it feels a wee bit like my 990SM, narrow and light but i have to remember i have luggage on the back....

My test ride was pissing rain and felt a lot of confidence in the front when tipping the bike in, the second time was riding her home in the snow and tbh the fact i never parked it and called for a rescue says enough, for anyone who knows the stretch between Aultguish and Braemore will know when it snows its bad real bad.

The explorer pack appealed to me as im a photographer and being able to stick my camera stuff in and out fairly easily without faffing about with soft luggage all the time and so far so good.

The engine bars were part of the pack and id not be without these as its only a matter of time before im picking her off the floor.

The yamaha heated grips are spot on, a bit expensive but they are much neater than 3rd party ones.

I think i will have to upgrade the sping as its rated to a 80kg rider and im not that lol.

My sons got a little KTM 85cc and he enjoys the fact he can beat me on the muddy stuff. Thumbs Up

Any updates Stevie on how your finding the T7? I'm seriously considering one.

Missed this post originally. I'm also interested to see how you're getting on with it as it seems you ride most of the same sort of roads as I do.

Looks cracking in your photos on Instagram, would.be good to see it in person some time if you fancy some company on a run some time.

Hey guys not been on here in a while. Ive started doing some longer distance runs, 200-300 miles.

I really like the T7 it suits me at the moment.

I changed the spring to be for heavier weight as ive big and also carry a lot of camera gear.

Changed the hand guards to the barkbusters.

My mate came off the bike 3 times off-roading and only damage is a scuff on the bark busters and dent on panier.

What is annoying is the turbulence behind the screen, just ordered a screen adjuster as the noise even with ear plugs on windy days is horrendous.

If your doing 60% road and 40 off road then its a good bike, if your only doing road then i would look at something more road orientated. She is still pretty heavy to pull out the mud but id not go for anything bigger if you want to do off roading.

I get approx 140 to the tank, so not massive range if your wanting to do a lot of road riding.

With stock tyres its pretty confidence inspiring even in the wet, the engine is very smooth so no sudden twitches unlike my previous KTMs.

For me having the metal luggage now is a must, i can carry a lot of camera gear and fairly protected.

Nice shot. The route through Braemar up to Granton is one of my favourites. Usually go that way when heading for Inverness sort of area.
