After the powers that be have decided we're working from home as of today, I've found...

1. Dining room chairs hurt my arse after 2 hours. This will need sorting.
2. A laptop with a second monitor doesn't cut it when you are used to 3 wide screen monitors. This too will need sorting.
3. You can fart as loudly and as often as you wish.
4. It's nice to have music on.
5. The kitchen staff aren't as accommodating as those in the works cafe, but they do grudgingly deliver to my desk.

Anyone else been sent home?

Since Monday.

I'm also told to limit my access to the vpn because it's not designed to have everyone working from home so no emails. Very Happy

I added an extra 500 licences to our VPN yesterday, bringing it up to 1000. We've got 5200 users. Most of them are frontline staff though, and not able to work from home, but it's going to be manic as the weeks go by.

Yeah I've been at home since Friday last week. Just been shopping for essentials. It consisted of:
2 x bottles of red wine
1 x 4 pack of stella
1 x bag of pork scratchings
1 x king pot noodle (chick n mush)
1 x sirloin steak from the butchers

Should get me through today. Will have to venture out tomorrow to see what they've got.

Still in the office at the moment.

1) I have a decent computer chair at home, no worries there. And in the office the boss is seriously considering "gaming chairs" over standard office ones.
2) Mmmm, I could probably get by with two but one is hard work and the main thing I'd miss.
3) And the toilet facilities are usually better, in case you have a mishap Shocked
4) This I'd miss: we have an old Logitech gaming sound setup in the office - big subwoofer - and various streaming services going through an old chromecast audio dongle. At home I'd have to wear headphones Sad
5) Staff pay rates might need to increase Wink

Raise it with human resources as a potential health and wellbeing issue just to see what happens. Might get a new chair out of it...

Does having to book holiday days rather than losing them count as being sent home?

Either way, I'm home for 17 days, 16 of which I know I'm going to get completely rat arsed Very Happy

Been home since Friday, very handy having a dodgy internet connection meaning my daily stand up meetings keep dropping out. Server can't handle the traffic either so my productivity is horrendous. Loving it so far! Laughing

Broke into a few houses looking for containers for fuel.

Broke open some car fuel caps in my road, and siphoned some fuel off, topped up bike and car, and stored the rest in the shed.

Went round houses in my street and dragged all the rotting corpses out, placed in pile, doused in petrol and burned. That's a few less round my way to come back after dark looking for living flesh to feed on.

Broke into storage area of local Tesco and got a decent haul of canned foods that hadn't yet been put out on the shelves. Still more in there, secured it.

The above translates to:
Started a spring clean at home by washing inside of windows and frames Smile

I started home working today.

It's really hard to be @rsed to do anything.

Best thing is having a sh1t with the door wide open.

(Not the front door).

Today, my employer told me I'm staying at home tomorrow (going back in on Friday), because there are 8 lawyers were I work and he says at this time of the national crisis there's no need for all of us to be at work at once. So, we take turns in who stays at home and when (100% pay). He says three lawyers at work should do. My supervisor already called in sick and my colleague called his son might have been exposed to the virus so he's in quarantine until all the tests are done.

The good thing about all this is, that the servers at work actually do work and the whole system is much faster than usual. It's actually ''joy'' to use those computers these days. Thinking

ALSO, I'm not doing any home office crap, as it is not allowed to take any legal documents out of the office. #Lawyerd. Dance!

Isn't your cat supposed to be starting Cantonese lessons by now? Laughing

edit: update from Suntans, is we're confined to the house mostly, only venturing to village shop for chocolate. Plenty of DIY getting done by Sid, with me supervising/gofering/ladder holding Very Happy

I’ve looked up lessons on teh net and am all ready to go, however he just won’t sit at his desk or even turn up for his lesson on time! Confused

I might just get the lawn mower going and give the grass a cut instead.

I found someone flogging a nearly new chair in the next village for a tenner, so have been and picked that up; I needed one for my music room/office anyway. Now to do a night time raid on the office for my monitors Smile

I've done more work on my collapsed fence in the last two days than I've done since storm Brexit happened.

I already work mostly from home, or visit people in their homes but because of the nature of the work I do, I can't work at all right now. The missus also works from home but luckily she rarely has to meet people face-to-face so she can still work and we still have some income. Still, at least it gives me a chance to do all those little jobs that need doing but I never seem to have the time to do.

Told us to work from home yesterday. The best part is it's nice and quiet, which gives me a nice break from having to have headphones on for 8 hours a day to drown out the idiots. it's not really anything new since I could always work from home. I was surprised how many people dont even have a desk

We've already had about 10 documents sent around with crap advice about drinking water and going for regular walks to keep yourself sane.

Everyone's also trying to find some way to socialise over the internet with games and stuff, because apparently nobody has anyone to talk to outside of work Laughing

I am down to my last 2 bog rolls though so it's not all great.
