I left my studio yesterday. Worked from home for years so wasn't too much of a change, although I don't have a spare room in our small flat to work in anymore and the baby has found her voice. So not been that productive.

On the flipside, we move next Friday so I'll have a couple of rooms to choose from.

Wifie is working from home now.

It's very petty but I really begrudge telling her where I'm going after having the house to myself during the week.

'I'm off out dear'

'OK, where are you going'

'Out'

'Yes but where'

What am I, a 10 year old to tell mummy where I'll be? Evil or Very Mad

Announcement at my office: work from home if you like.

Sweet! Weather looks good next week so might have to trim some of the garden and get the lawn chairs out Smile

Day 3, I've had to go into the office twice. Once because I needed to make a change on the VPN which I can't do remotely, and another because I need to run a couple of restores so have to get tapes out of the safe.

The office is fairly deserted, so I could work from here and have less human contact than I do at home Smile

I'm still Out There.
Well, not on the weekends.
Although I have had to patch my work phone through to my mobile.

But I do have remote access if I feel so inclined to work from home, and have brought myself home a special "phone calls from work ONLY" notebook, just in case I end up not getting back there.

So this weekend I am truly relaxing and eating cake.

Its kind of funky to still be out and about.
They're sending a taxi for me on Monday because difficult Undergrounds.
Not sure how long that will last, cos I'm not critical medical staff.

Being in seclusion would be no different than how I have been spending most of my time for about the last year or so anyway. I've been quite solitary for a long time until I got to grips with the relationship breakdown. I did a lot of self-isolating (and hash oil) last year, so its like I've been in training for this Laughing

Onwards!
This is shaping up to be a Brave New World.
Cool

Can I just ask ...

Does anyone worry this might be a modern technology version of War of the Worlds?

i.e. media thinking it would be lolz to wind up the public about something,

... but which then has gone horribly wrong in a Sorcerer's Apprentice kind of way, and there's no Master Wizard to come back, banish all the broomsticks and change it all back to how it was.

Question

I dont think journos need to be on the priority key staff list. News broadcasts yes but not the liars the tabloids seem to employ.

I dont see this going well if it gets a hold here.

No time off for me.
The rest of the plant is off but I'm part of a small repair team.
I don't really mind tbh, although it would have been nice to have been able to get out for a midweek blast on some quieter roads.

No work in the pipeline for me atm.
I finish 10 shifts in a row on Monday morning.

A couple of days to recover, then if the weather isn’t to bad, it’s time for a spin on the quieter roads Thumbs Up

I was at work in the Muddle East before the Big Bang fizzled to a poof and we are confined to the region.
If we go home there's no certainty we'll be allowed back in. I work a 5wk rotation. My relief is at home.
I could be here all the way to the end of Eid Al Fitr.
End of May (or end of the world).

No pay for days off so being stuck here is maybe a bit of fortune.

At work we've no social distancing as our group is controlled.
I stay away from every fucker as screening for the virus is futile as a reliable means of prevention.

I've been wondering how it is in that region, actually.

Well....

We have truckers bringing shit to rigs 247.
Who knows where they've been or who they've been in close proximity to?
But as control the Whankirz at our HQ (Hardly Qualified) sent out IR thermometers so the Gate Guard (more like a human GSD) can check the temps. of truckers (and supposedly every swinging dick/flapping flaps) who arrive on the location.
I've not seen how this gets done.
I don't trust the gate guards to look after the property at the site let alone the health of the folk here.
That control method is nonsense anyway as there is absolutely zero control of who the streerers meet between where ever they leave from and get to location. Petrol stations and cafes along the road.
Quarantine is the only method of control.
Or zero risk exposure to visitors.

They don't use toilet paper the durty kunts so at least the expats have plenty of that for sort of comfort.

I may be getting a letter on Tuesday from the NHS (apparently I'm of the at risk group) that will tell my employer to pay me full pay and give me 12 weeks off. As a zero hour person this is good news, otherwise its stay at work until I cough.

12 weeks isolation for the vulnerable and 14 days for the rest of us if we cough.
Everywhere closed !

Man I’m bored out of my skull already!

How many of you will have killed your partner by the time this nonsense is over.
How long will it be before ‘locals ‘ start chasing strangers away from thier ‘local’ shops Shocked Laughing

Is this the beginning of the ‘Walking Dead’?

Funny you should say that, I've just started watching the series and there was even a quarantine bit in the season 4. Thinking
