To see what the general feeling is, play along.
Recently in a long ass thread, there was a lot of people jumping in just to correct grammar. So how do you feel about being able to write freely how you like, with it being relaxed here? Or do you want perfect grammar on every thread?

Grammar is good, but good vocabulary and use of English is better.

What's all this about long donkeys jumping things?

Heh. In another forum I used to frequent the owner/moderator had a massive bee up his arse about Americanisms, and had literally set up an autocorrect function on the site to alter them to UK English. Didn't work properly at all and drove me nuts.... "Hi-viz" became "Hello-viz" (seriously), and the above sentence would have been changed to "...a long donkey thread..." He thought it was funny.

1) What do you mean by "do the poll"? Take part in your one, or set up a new one about something?

2) Well, you mentioned a long donkey, so I'll take your statement as an admission of general inability.

Depends. It's worse if you pronounce "H" as "Haitch", though.

Sounds like a good man, although inept with software. Perhaps he was not proficient in the use of "lex" and "yacc"

It's a large part of my vocabulary so I would say yes. Unless you're going to start calling me it on every thread Smile

God is already not happy with us at the moment. Don't piss him off any further because he speaks the Queens English, not any rap crap or the like.

We need to sacrifice Americans to him. Praying

Queens English? Don't you mean Queen's English, or do you mean English from Queens in New York?

Oh, and you forgot your reverential capitalisation of "Him" Wink

Grammar is important because the karma bot has been programmed to reduce your karma for poor spelling and grammar.

It likes caps at the start of sentences and full stops at the end, for example although I suspect it doesn't go full "Eats shoots' and leaves" on the grammar front.

It HATES txt spk and mildly looks down on profanity.

The karma bot has been known to make people preview and spell check their posts before today.

Meh, I can take it or leave it. But I will pay more attention to well-written posts.

Extra points for calling someone an "utter cunt".
