Google ''CVVD Engine''.

The Koenigsegg freevalve system is sure interesting, but being all fly by wire (no physical concetion to anything), I can't see that type of engine head being mass produced any time soon, definitely not in a interference engine (pistons can touch the valves, if something goes wrong).

Speaking of EVs, how's the public chargers situation in the UK doing these days? Our (CZE) local power distributors started using the ''real'' rates for charging, so driving an EV is now even more expensive, in ''fuel'', than covering the same distance in a petrol/diesel ICE car, let alone all the alternative fuels, such as CNG, LPG and other variants. And on that note, ha-ha to all the ''but it's cheaper to run an EV'' people.

What's this got to do with electric cars or power trains for them or bikes?

1, Do you seriously think that at this stage of ICE glide down development slope, that bike manufacturers are going to spend billions on producing twin turbo or twin charged camless engine designs? They'll never get their money back now.

2, Camless petrol engines have been around for ages now, and several manufacturers have had working engines, prototypes, collaborations and production engines available for over a decade. There's several ways of doing camless engine designs and hydraulic, pneumatic, electromagnetic etc are all possible.

3, Bikes and cars have never been more different. First of all bikes are still way behind car industry standards with regards to the emissions standard they have to meet. We are still easily in an era where forced induction for emissions is not needed to meet emissions legislation, and where emissions limits are not limiting bike engine performance severely enough to make getting the required power density impossible with NA designs.

Bikes have also been exempted from the 2035 petrol vehicle ban and so I firmly believe that bike manufacturers will go from euro 5 standards to electric power in one direct hit without hybrid or very complicated emissions lead ICE development for no performance benefit.
