Bulgaria: 1000 EUR fine up to 3 years jail time.
Germany: fines of up to €25,000.
France: 4000 fines by the police already, 35 euros and it can go up to 375 euros.

China:

The UK gov. are useless #COVIDIOTS

In all EU countries, there are hefty fines/jail time for the morons that defy #covid19 health rules.

In the UK health secretary just call them selfish and the PM "urges the public"!

You told us yesterday that you and your wife and a dog had just spent 10 days driving 3000 miles from UK to Bulgaria and back, dodging closed border checks. Your lack of awareness in this matter astounds me, as does your hypocrisy here. #Covidiot indeed.

And no doubt when we get some "rules" we'll have some sort of penalty for disobeying. All we have now are more what you'd call guidelines.

How many different countries did you stop in on your 3,000 mile trip across the continent?

Nice change of tune here. Before people like Val were describing Boris as some kind of extreme far right authoritarian. But it seems they were wrong. The truth is that Boris is strongly libertarian, cares deeply about people's rights, and is very relucant to either take away any rights or use any force to enforce such restrictions. He wants people to voluntarily work together to help each other, and just wants to keep appealing for people to do so, until they do.

Thsat ipllcok avid lamey has been saying how "Boris Johnson must impose a lockdown now" (source: "The Independent"). You can be sure that if he'd "imposed a lockdown" last week, david lamey would be among those craying "Foul!". If Boris Johnson does "impose a lockdown now", it will be "too harsh" or "still not good enough". Pathetic.

Another good one is: "why didn't the government prepare for this?"

How? By keeping 100,000 ventilators and a 100 million gasks masks "in reserve"?

However I do think this ia good opportunity to build a few skyscrapers to house tens of thousands of extra ward beds.

I think Boris knows all too well what the police would be like if they were handed sweeping powers and is taking every step to avoid it. He is also aware what the attitude of the UK population would be.

Once people get on board, these things will be self-enforcing. I have a very real sense that people are getting their act together even over the last 48h.

In any case, nothing stopping you leaving if you don't like how we do things here Val. Don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out. I'd suggest only AFTER a volountary 14 day isolation period though.

I'm sure that, like you, anyone caught being out would claim they had 'good reason'.

What interests me is when it's also wealthy people who might be negatively affected by people trotting about the common travel area then the Eurognomes rapidly shut the borders down.

As of 10 minutes ago, new lockdown rules came into effect here in Cyprus.

If you need to go out, your reason must fit into one of eight catergories. You have to text the number 1-8 of your reason, plus your ID number, name and address to a government number and wait for a reply giving permission

Then when you go out you take your phone and your ID to show any official or police if asked.

Your "permission" reply text expires after 3 hours.

If you don't have SMS there is a Form you download and complete to take with you.

If you do neither and go out, and get caught, €150 fine or worse will be levied.

I vaguely remember he used to post photos of bikes. But hey ho people change, I didn't used to call everyone a cunt. He's a cunt for taking his mobile infection roadshow on a tour of Europe.
