I bought a fourpack of bogroll in January, and still have a complete roll left, but i bought lots of lentils, a 10kg bag of rice, lots of different packets of dried spices and 15kg of gas for my heater/cooker.

I want to spend the rest on booze, but am afraid that I will miss all the excitement if i'm pissed for 12 weeks.
What do you consider important to buy, and why?

Also Rum and Coke.

I've got 6 weeks worth of meal replacement powders for if the shit really hits the fan. Not ideal but I'm not super worried about not being able to get to a shop just yet.

I'd already bought my annual huge bag of Lidl rice before the virus appeared.

I'd like more flour but it's sold out... Haven't checked the chipatti flour in the world foods section yet though "note to self..."

Pasta/egg noodle is a good idea because it's first class protein. Or resort to rice and pea.

Usually have some UHT milk in. Hate the stuff for eating but it stores well and I can make yoghurt, paneer and suchlike with it.

Frozen peas, frozen fish.

Cash. Just in case there is a Cyprus-style raid on the banks. Got a mate who works in the precious metals industry. He's absolutely flat-out busy.

Assume 60 days 120 sheets/roll, 3 rolls. 120 sheets in 20 days, 6 sheets/day.

1 sh- a day. Seems reasonable.

Normal shopping at normal times. There's enough food in the house for at least a couple of weeks anyway, and I could easily go a fortnight on nothing at all.

Stockpiling is a bad thing.

I've stockpiled rolling papers, the nice non bleached OCB ones. I have a feeling they will vanish early on and I really don't like Rizla.

I think now maybe a good time to stockpile money. If you get through this economically unaffected then I bet you can hoover up some nice bikes at rock bottom prices. #profiteering

mmm, not sure I'd like to smell your fingers !! Laughing Laughing Unless of course, you usually drop the kids off at work !! Laughing

Aside from that, I'm stockpiling nothing, there's plenty available in the shops, perhaps not necessarily the usual brands, but, all the same, it's really not that bad, well, once the stockpiling morons have finished their daily scrum ..

I don't have enough space to stockpile, but I do however, have a fine selection of clanger-safe crackers - because there was no gluten-free bread anywhere in my vicinity when I went out shopping last time.

I am can happily survive on thai based curry, miso and tom yum based soups and crackers. Its not as if I am using that many calories at the moment - input vs output and all that.

I did have a stack of 'snacks / treats' because my holiday got cancelled, so I splashed out a little...but being confined to the house, the bleeders keep calling me from the kitchen 'come and eat me, you know you want to' and my usual willpower has completely deserted me. So I basically have no snacks. The plan was to make some flapjack, however there was no porridge oats in stock when I last went shopping and porridge for brekkie wins over porridge oats for flapjack...so no flapjacks to fill the snack void. Sad

My freezer has:
Bag of Ikea meat ball. (Skuriloholls)
The gravy for them too.
Two hams (need baking)
4 Sea bass. Fresh frozen.
Two salmon loin.
Two bag broccoli.
One bag spinach.
8 It milk.
Two Grahams Choc-chip ice cream.
And a tray of ice cubes.
Cereals four packs shreddies.
Four bags bread flour.
Tins of soup and beans.
Enough for about a week.
Then I've the rhubarb to eat out the back before I grill the two spare tyres in the garage.

Hmmm. I think this statement needs a lot of qualifying. Pasta certainly isn't my go-to choice as a protein source.

I'll eat whatever the wife puts in front of me (quiet life and all that) but I do have a stash of tinned fish; keeps forever and a good source of omegas, whatever they are.

It's 5% protein, made with egg yolk. A 200g serving is 22% of your RDA of protein.

You also get pea pasta (green stuff) which is 10% protein but a mix of pulse and egg protein.
