It’s only been a few days into lock-down and already I’m climbing the walls!
Who else is already feeling bonkers about being stuck at home a lot?

Doing jobs around the house (slowly), but that will only keep me amused for so long because I fucking hate DIY with a passion.
The weather here is not quite good enough for me to drag a bike out of the garage and work on it.
That said my bikes are in reasonably good order and so don’t need a lot to be done to them.
I’ve watched more telly in the last week than I care for, Jeez! There’s some shite on the box these days.

Silly suggestions for things to keep us entertained/amused/busy please

Depends on the circumstances. Rural or urban, garden or none, children or not, ages etc.

Get used to it, reckon they'll announce a longer stricter lock down soon, to end of April, then end of May. The noises being made by the scientists and Bozza point to this.

Widely reported just now as "until June". It wouldn't surprise me if various is restrictions went on longer.

If you're looking for something to burn time, start playing Minecraft.

I dunno what I would do if I was stuck in a flat or maisonette. As it is I have plenty of stuff I could do at home in the workshop, at least a couple of months worth except I'm back to work on Wednesday.

Thanks to the government declaring that construction sites can continue working you either run the covid19 gauntlet to continue work or starve.

I'm just concentrating on little things to chalk off as I go along. I'm still working, but from home, and that gives me ~3 hours extra day I'm not commuting in, so I'm 50/50'ing that between me and a bit of overtime (it probably works out more like 80/20 over my actual contracted hours but I'm happy enough with that).

Last weekend I caught up on all my paperwork (including submitting all the expenses claims I haven't submitted for a few months because I was too busy - get me back rich yo).

This weekend I've been clearing down:

Pulled the car and bikes out of the garage and then got everything else out:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49708873082_8d41ce176f_c.jpg

Lots of grot and horribleness hanging about.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49708872982_e61b680c59_c.jpg

Getting there:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49708872437_f66df2e95e_c.jpg

Back reorganised and sorted through - not perfect, but a lot better. Loads to go to the tip now whenever we can do that again:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49708872327_aa92be73a3_c.jpg

Hadn't drained my drain tub after changing my brother in law's Corsa's oil about 2 years back. Lazy me. Just look at the state of that Laughing

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49708551836_8a4ccd5443_c.jpg

Not a totally wasted day.

Today I've got the 911's headlights to clean so I will mostly be using this stuff:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49701130508_f95ddc5507_c.jpg

Well, specifically the Meguiars Plastx stuff which can hopefully stop them looking all yellow then the Chemical Brothers liquid wax to seal them off nicely.

In the evenings I've been going with some recommended TV that I never have the chance otherwise to watch and this has been grabbing me:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06rueu_fh30

Been good so far - not every day you see someone get their brains squeezed out by a hot chick sitting on their face Thumbs Up

The plastic yellows because of UV, so make sure whatever you seal them with is UV blocking. Various posh products around for £££; I used yacht varnish diluted with white spirit on my last car; worked very well and was basically free as I had both already Wink

I'm hoping (not clicked the link) that the telly you're referring to is "The Boys", because otherwise you must be using Ste's special telly guide Shocked

Well I’ve been titting about in the garage this morning and playing lots heavy heavy bass club tunes Smile Thumbs Up
And that’s annoying the neighbours, so that had to stop Crying or Very sad .

We’ve had sleet/snow here today so I’m not getting the bike out of the garage to work on it, not that it needs much.
If I polish them anymore, I’ll wear the paint off Shocked .

I’ve now got an app ‘Duolingo’ , so I’m Going to carry on trying to improve my German.

Still no silly suggestions? Have we all become very grown up and sensible on the mighty BCF?

I'm overdosing on tea and old episodes of Wheeler Dealer. I'm also rediscovering I have no aptitude for guitar.

I'm stuck in a studio flat. No workshop, only my hack-strom is here.

I spent £220 on a Hobao DC1 RC crawler kit. It's keeping me busy.

Look at it's little gearbox

Cool. Looks like sintered metal gears. Pretty good quality at that, should be more than up to the job. I could make any of those except the double gear on the layshaft. Well, i could make that too but in 2 pieces.

Haha, yep The Boys - love the premise of it and think they've pulled it off quite well (in the 3 episodes I've seen so far - rationing it).

Yeah the Liquid Wax is a high UV protector and is heat resistant enough it'll sort it for a good 6-12 months, especially given how little I use the car Thumbs Up.

Well it used to be the case I hadn't washed the bike 'cos I'm a lazy git. Now I'm saving it as a "treat" for when things are really bad!

As touched on with the above garage clearance the only thing putting me off clearing the shed is "can I go down to the rubbish dump?" (No, BTW, "not essential travel")

Gave the kitchen a good clean this morning including the induction hob with a special hob cleaning product. Had always cleaned it with soap / water but this stuff is on another level Cool

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49711740031_bba37226f8_c.jpg

The flecks on the right hand side of the pic are from the glass reflecting back the marbling in the splash-back. Bloody impressive shine.

You know you're bored when you're chuffed with a kitchen cleaning product Laughing

I have a plastic model kit that I bought for a friends kid and then found out he was allergic to the glue so couldn't make it. It's been on top of the wardrobe for a few years now.

I even bought some paints but I'm wondering whether its politic to start it now while wifies job list for me remains untouched.

This is the kit

I haven't made one of these for must be 30 years.

Your ability to do those jobs will still be there after you've built the model...

Yeah, I'm bored with it now. Let's go on to the next thing. How about a nice war? Haven't had one of those for a while.

Listening to a few podcasts, watching some comedy performances etc.

Got this on while I throw some (late - yeah, I forgot the clocks) lunch together:

(oops, link removed - Bill Burr's Monday Morning podcast, definitely not work family safe!)
