I bought Yamaha Touring Serow250 (XT250).
My neck isn't perfect but got better, so I decided to own a bike again.
I noticed I haven't owned 250 class yet so I wanted 250.
First I was tempted to 2 stroke, like Ninja150RR, then I was suggested TS185ER here, which seemed very interesting to own, but I also heard Yamaha stops selling Serow250 and sells its final edition. I wanted to try Yamaha's long seller trail model.
Final edition has coloured frame(red and green).

Touring Serow is a Serow attached below options
-Adventure Screen
-Hand guards
-Adventure rear carrier
-Alminium engine guard

And I had below attached too
-Heated grip
-ETC(electrical toll collection system)
-USB and Socket
-Topcase
-On road Tyres(IRC GP210)

I read many Serow users choose IRC GP 210 for on road use which makes the bike very comfortable on road, and its pattern is good for flat dirt too.

My impression for riding 50km. (am running in so not revving high yet)
Engine has rich bottom end torque.
It's 5 speed not 6. Top gear is useable over 50km/h(31mph).
Air cooled single 250cc but vibration was not so big.
Runs with a torque comfortably
It's like bigger version of YBR125 with good suspension.
Adventure screen covers below my neck. looks good for long touring.
I'm 173cm(5.7) tall and both feet reach the ground. 830mm seat height.
This is super light bike(133kg:293lbs)
These makes this bike a very good town commuter too.
Relatively lower seat height and higher pegs for off road use makes both knees cramped a little bit, which makes rider tired when riding long I heard, so I ordered Touring Seat for Serow (+30mm) from Y's gear. Not attached yet.

I'm riding with neck supporter which support my chin and relief my neck strain. I'm not sure how long I can ride yet, but I wanna ride longer little by little.

Not quite sure what it is: ADV-lite, off-roader with delusions of grandeur... somehow it works though Smile

Often when bikes are modernised it all goes wrong e.g. the transition from old round headlamps to oblong ones Puke But IMHO they're got this one right Thumbs Up

Maybe ADV-lite. It's very popular here.
CRF250rally, V strom250, Versys 250 are sold too.
CRF has liquid cooled engine but super expensive, latter two have twin motors but very heavy.

They used to sell the older 225 grey import Serow's to shorter riders in the UK for light off roading, but I didn't know they still made them? This is actually a very good looking off roader! I personally can't see the point of adventure bikes as weight is the enemy of off road riding, but something like this is a true go-anywhere bike. Truly nice, and I'm a bit jealous too Kawashima-San! Thumbs Up Smile
