Hi All
Joined because there seems to be a lot of help for old Honda 125 owners.
Just purchased a 1983 Honda CM125C as a project to do with my son in law.
I'm quite used to stripping down old British bikes but have only tinkered when needed on Japanese bikes, so will be the blind leading the blind.

Saw a YouTube video of an Indian guy in sandals completely renovating a Bentley 125 and thought that looks easy (I assume I'm about to be proven wrong)

Bike is not exactly running, does start on choke and throttle and stays alive only when being throttled.

So I'm going for a complete strip down and feel sure that I will be asking questions in the near future

All the Best
Ade

Only buy good quality sandals, you get what you pay for.

Your carb needs taking apart for a good clean, there'll be a gummed up jet in there by the sound of it.

Hello
I think I had one of those very briefly years ago
There used to be a picture of me riding it (indoors 😂)
Are they a customy-lookin' thing? Mine was kinda red/maroon if I remember correctly.
Mind you I never worked on it. I think the chaps showed me how to change a clutch cable on it. But that was a long time ago.
It will be good to see the progress you guys make together.

Ceefers were let down by poor electrics ( would you want a bike with 'emergency start' as on option on the ignition switch) with a 12volt conversion should be a nice bike, within it's limitations.

I always reckoned that 1969 would be about the best year for a Bonnie.

Oh and welcome to the group...

Thank you for all the welcomes

C15 - I love my C15, starts first or second kick, been round the IOM circuit many a time
Electrics are fine because they are now 12v
It does however have a habit of vibrating things loose
Last time at the IOM 2 rocker caps vibrated loose, very oily boots, missus had to post me 2 over from my garage so I could carry on.

CM125 - I'll post some picks hopefully at the weekend I assume they should go in the 'Show & Tell' forum
I have now stripped the bodywork down to the bare frame, swinging arm at a mates being welded.
Unfortunately another mate who does power coating isn't allowed to go to work so wont get that done for a month or two
Don't want to start restoring the engine without the son in law so that's also on hold (no visitors!!)
So cleaned up the switches this evening, going to try a respray

You watch it, if you actually ride your T120, the first thing that will be vibrated loose is your goolies, and your missus won't be able to post you a pair of those!
