I am sure it will be a good bike, but look at it, it's just another small capacity machine (pretending to be something it's not) that'd get lost in the parking bay. It's got no charm, it's not a Van Van & tbh I wouldn't be seen dead on it.
My wife wanted a Fiat 500 but bought a "safe" Suzuki Swift, it ran without any problems for 3 years but she was never happy till she got the Fiat, it's got charm, she can't stop looking at it, cleaning it or driving it, same thing. |
Which is why I bought a w650. Great bike.
Sold it.
Turned out looks count for shit. It's what happens when you're on it and can't see it that's by far the most important thing (to me at least). ____________________ "Life is a sexually transmitted disease and the mortality rate is one hundred percent."

The Skyteam Raptor 250 is notionally still available at £2K + OTR, which is about what I'd want to pay for the Van Van.
Can't actually see anyone selling one though, and it'll be another casualty of the 2017 Eurobollocks. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I had a vanvan 125 as my first bike and do miss not having it in the garage sometimes, but then I think back to all dread of seeing another hill loom in the distance on a long trip
All part of the charm though! Was fun as hell just ploughing down muddy farm tracks and pissing about. ____________________ Previous : 09 Vanvan 125| 02' Sv650s || Current: 1999 Xj600n | 1992 DR650 RSE | 2005 Fazer 1000 |

I've found something negative about owning a Van Van. I was stopped last week by the police, first time in over 20 years, they wanted to "know my license status".
I argued with them that they could stop anybody on any bike to ask such a thing and why the fook had they stopped me. I put it down an overly officious cop, but no, it happened again tonight!
I am 53, owned full license for over 30 years , I can ride any bike I like, apart from a Van Van without L plates it seems. |

Well, they can. They don't have to give any reason at all.
Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, third time is enemy action. If it happens again, I'd assume that you - or more specifically, your plate - has been flagged for attention. Feel free to fire in with a complaint, but the easiest route will be to either change the bike, or put a private plate on it. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Kinder, gentler BCF.
Better bumping than starting a new "OMFG mi frist biek!!!11!" thread, right? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
