Howdy,

The title pretty much sums it up for my 2001 BMW R1200C.

I opened up both the underside right & left handlebar fittings & they were dry (it's been raining).

The emergency flashers work fine, the right turn signal works fine, the horn works as well; but the left indicator does not & it did the last time I rode.

A few weeks ago (just a day or two after buying the bike) the right indicator would randomly start blinking, but I don't know if that is related or not.

Thanks!

I'd be tempted to unplug the switchgear from the loom, find out which wires do the indicators and connect across them to check the wiring on the loom and the rest of the electrics work.

The most likely fault is the switch is worn or dirty but it wont help to discount everything else first.

When you unplug the switchgear look out for broken wires at the connector. It's a wsakpoint. A front brake switch not working on my triumph turned out to be a wire broken off the connector, typically it was on the loom side.

2001 should be pre-canbus so you're in luck there!

If the 4-ways work, the problem must be between the switch and the relay.

Howdy,

@stinkwheel - Woot...no idea what that means (pre-googling), but a bit of luck is great!

@Nooby the Bastard: - I shall attempt both after I look up in my manual how to take them apart further than what I did. As a side note, it is odd one of the pictures sent to me pre-sale (I bought from over 1000 miles/1600km) seemed to show the right side wires slightly not as they should be, but all seemed in order when I picked up. The picture was ~6 months old as it had been sitting on consignment.
