Hi,

Can anyone tell me if this is right or what I'm doing wrong.

I'm changing the crank seals and bearings ect on my NS125. But the crank seal I have is different, the original fitted to the engine is like a double sided seal and has a lipped edge on both sides of the seal. The new one is like a standard seal flat on the outer face and lipped on the inner. The size ect is the same. Is this how replacements are?

Please see pictures of the link works

Thanks Dec

Looking below in the adverts we have left hand and right hand crankshaft seals.
Obviously one lipped seal stops leakage one way and two lipped seals stops leakage both ways.
The crankshaft has to drive a clutch maybe Rolling Eyes so another lip is required to seal that out ??????????

P.S. i hate 2 strokes.

That's what I thought, but I can't find a double lipped seal anywhere to buy. Everyone iv found that's listed to fit the bike is a standard seal flat on one side and lipped in the other.

Cheers

What does the lettering on the seal itself say? They are almost certain to be standard seals, so rather than looking for a "seal to fit a NS125", look for a seal with (for example) "20 47 10 xyx", you will find the letters moulded into the "rubber" of the seal.
