About a year ago I saw a lorry (presumably carrying bakery products) with a picture of a small bread-based item resembling the one in the OP's photo and the wording "Breadcake?" or something like that. Must have been a Rotherham wagon.

'round here they're barmcakes. Which makes no sense to me. I call it a roll, or of it's got saucy contents, a nice plump bap.

I thought everyone loved baps?
Well other than the Jocks, who apparently prefer a softie during their morning roll?!

Muffin, barm or oven bottom are technically correct, anything else and you're playing at being an expert in said subject matter.

So with the exception of the Batch-loving Warwickshire folk, all of the interesting names (of which some are clearly spoiling for an argument) are north of the Watford gap? Do people not eat barm-scufflers or morning-softies in that London or summat?
