I KNOW!

They reduced broadcasts to 4 a week a while back, and are now only broadcasting repeats of key moments from Archers history, like when the bottom field got flooded; when the fence came down at top field and the dogging incident in middle field.

Not forgetting of course the climactic episode during the great scone shortage of 1967 when Grey Gables could no longer serve cream teas.

My personal favourite* is when the old dear broke her dentures munching on a carrot at the Flower & Produce Show one autumn and uttered the immortal line, "Don't touch the carrots, they're lethal!"

I grew out of watching (and listening) any of them years ago. I prefer silence to most of that tedious bants.

I literally happened to watch five minutes of Coronation Street today, for the first time in probably 10 years. Its entirely chance the the five minutes I watched, I recognised the three women in it, because collectively they have been on it, quite literally, for CENTURIES.

I used to watch Corrie (10~15 years ago) - but it lost its comedic charm, it used to be a little bit silly and quite light hearted - but I lost interest when they started along the depressing/angry/arguing/violent route. I'm assuming it was what the target demographic wanted..
