So i have recently bought my first quadBIKE ... Now guys i know some of you on here may not appreciate the fact its a quad bike. However never the less it is a bike so please spare me the misery.

Anyways i have bought a yamaha raptor 660cc on a 2007 plate road legal registered. However the bike had a ninja zx750ne engine fitted. I initially bought the bike being told that the carbs had seized and needed replacing. After taking it to the local mechanic i have been told that the entire engine is completely knackered and will require complete rebuild. So its cheaper to replace the engine.

My question is guys. What other engine would fit straight in as my current chassis has been fabricated to fit the zx750ne engine in it.

Engine number is ZX750NE013273

ANY HELP WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED Very Happy

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?

The obvious thing would be to get either the original 660 engine or another Ninja 750 engine, depending on whether the mounts have been f*cked with to fit the latter.

I'd imagine there would be plenty of ZX7 motors out there. Lots of peole will have crashed them and they break frames for fun too.. *Checks ebay... Oooh pricey!*

I'd go with the engine that was fitted because it'll have all the wiring and ignition system sorted out and the correct CDI fitted.. Plus you'll have a source of spare parts in the old one...

Unless you've been sold a pup and it never really ran with that motor and was just an optimistic lemon project someone's bodged together, given up on and punted on.

I'd imagine a quad with a ZX7 motor would be so powerful as to be damned near unrideable.

This may sound silly, but have you ridden this quad yet, or any quad of this size? The engine in the 660 raptor made just under 40 bhp. The ZX750ne engine produces around 100 bhp. Simply shoving a 100 bhp engine into something designed for less than half that power and then taking it for a ride with little or no experience of that type of vehicle is unlikely to end well. Is the drive train even be strong enough to cope with the extra power and torque without braking, is the frame strong enough to cope without twisting? Increasing a vehicle's power by 150% without serious modification to the entire vehicle is rarely a good idea.

I do know a guy who had a quad with an oil boiler GSXR engine in it. He did just tart about on it with his designer sunnies looking like a c*nt though. No idea what it was like to ride, I didn't really interact with said person. He saw anyone who wasn't as high on the C*nt scale as himself as sub human and would not interact.

Very strange fellow.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
