Not the best videos I’ve ever watched.
Maybe some sub titles for us smelly westerners who are unable to speak Japanese, but thank you anyway.

Got to love a iL4 250 Thumbs Up

The CBR250RR was always awesome. Appears it still is.

Your comment got me looking and it seems that YouTube does auto-translation subtitles. A bit random and probably hilarious if you're bilingual, but helps pick up the gist of the chat.

Click the settings cog, change subtitles to on (in this case Japanese - auto-generated) then click the cog a 2nd time, click subtitles again and this time there's an auto-translate option. Pick your language and sit back with a beer.

Thanks. I genuinely didn't know the Toob could do this. Hopefully it will expand my enjoyment of Russian dash cam videos now I'll be able to understand what swear words they use. Smile

The early 90s mini IL4s are indeed awesome....

They did a 250 bandit. They were just silly and a bit shit. Lad in my town used to have one. It was all a bit monty-python.

It was going about half as fast as it sounded.

They made a 250 hornet too. A few landed uop in the UK. I bet those would be a good A2 bike.

Japanese manufacturers were making all sorts of 250cc in-line four cylinder bikes back in the day.

My only issue is, and the smalest in-line four that I owned was a 399cc, they are rather boring 90% of the time you sit on them. Sure, the CB-1 reved sky high, sure it made high-pitch noise from the exhaust... but the mpg was crap and the power output just did not match the throttle input. I can't even imagine it being a 250cc. 14k, 18k, 20k rpm sounds exciting but it is not. Imagine driving your car using only the first three gears.

The cool thing about small in-line four cylinders is, you get all the drama and noise (reving the engine up to the top, going through the gears) very early on, still keeping it safe enough for the open road.

I used to race an RGV250 vs GP 2 strokes and other road based 2 strokes mostly in the forgotten era class. there was a cbr250 in the same class and bearing in mind it was a 1 mile track with 2 sub 30mph bends..the cbr would be getting lapped after lap 3 or 4 Laughing however that cbr finished every race and even won a championship by always finishing!

I'd love an old il4 250cc! Kawasaki are making a new one, zx25-r, supposedly 60bhp from the full fat model. Probably never going to make it to the UK Sad .

My first ever BCF ride out back in maybe spring 2008, around that time anyway, I was on my TDR250 and another member had a CBR250rr. Side by side, neck and neck, through a tunnel. Awesome sound. They were actually relatively well matched for speed too.

Didn't they do 250cc two strokes vs 400cc four strokes championships in the UK? I remember seeing such race on Tv years ago.

Here's one such race: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0l9camNW6k RGV 250 vs VFR 400.
