My lil scooter has been off the road almost five years, but I noticed oil still dripping into the carburetor, I'm waiting on new oil filter, but I wonder if something else knackered like oil pump it's a centrifugal pump but oil leaking into crankcase, is pump duff?

2 stroke? The oil reservoir is higher than the carb and so I would imagine that gravity would push a tiny bit though over 5 years.

If it's not been used for 5 years there are more pressing things to look at if you are planning on starting it.

Nobby made it pretty clear! The tank is above the carb, yes? Therefore if the oil pump happens to be mid stroke when the engine stopped its possible for gravity to force a little bit of oil through the whole system.

Not an issue really seeing as you'll be taking the carb out anyway to clean. You will be doing that, of course Wink
