hi guys.
i know its not exactly a bike but me and my mate just bought this mini moto and i need help. hope you can give me some clues.
it starts really well witht he choke on and holding the throttle full open, but wont even try to tick over.
it wont run witht he choke off, but will run ok withthe choke on, even when fully warmed up, but it wont run properly it kinda seems to lack power and only fires somehting like 1 in every 2 or 3 times round, or thats what it sounds like.
i adjusted the idle screw and it made it run better but still wont run with the choke off.

any help will be really appreciated guys as we are hoping to race it soon.

cheers

Sounds like there's crap in the carburettor and or the jets. Clean it out and blow some (compressed) air through the jets and it should improve it if it's a muck problem.

Ensure you have no air leaks, that the spark plug is ok and that the oil/petrol mix is correct.

There isn't really a lot that goes wrong with these things to be honest.

Did you clean the carburetor out?

thanks for the help so far guys. i did clean the carb out properly and ive just been playing with the mixture screw and got it to run a lot better, but still very underpowerd(yes a lot less power than shud be there). it will just about pull with me on it nut will only do about 2mph, it seems to be running hot but i think that is because the air fuel mix screw is now almost all the way in to get it to run like this. deos this piont to anything? also it still wont tick over and only keeps running if held at full throttle. spark plug seems ok.

i think that the clue to this is somewhere with the fact that the mixture screw has had to be set where it is but i dont know what this pionts to. any ideas?

cheers
sam
