I might be one of not many who works 40 hour weeks regardless of Covid-19. I had maybe 5-6 days of mandatory home office but other than that, business as usual. Thinking

EDIT: Thinking of it, who am I to cry about having actual work to do and regular wages? In that regard I'm doing quite alright.

Lucky you, being self employed I haven't had the luxury of furlough and I have not been able to work either. I have had no income since the lockdown started and it will still be at least 10 days before I get any money from the self employed income support scheme, which still won't come close to cover my living expenses. In the meantime I still have most of the expenses of my business to cover. So you keep on enjoying your extended paid for holiday, but personally I can't wait for this total clusterfuck to come to an end.

Well, now you're back to your normal c*ntiness. As my company can basically function without any of us attending the office, that means my taxes are paying to keep your lazy carcass. This vexes me.

Is this the user formerly known as bodyguard and last known as beehive bedlam?

Just so I can fully ban the old account and set him to enemy. Saves time.

No, don't ban, It's been getting boring with donk, butler, king29 and co. gone or quiet.

I like new stories so let him stay at least for a while. Thumbs Up

Also he isn't the first person to say that. I know a few that are very happy on furlough and would spend the rest of their lives on it if they could.

It beats the old age pension thats for certain. Can I have it please. Laughing

I've continued to work through all of this. Working from home.

Can't lie, my productivity is down to about 40%... I don't usually start to properly work until after lunch... but I'm still keeping to deadlines. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing Laughing

Anyway, my taxes are paying for you furloughed folk. I think technically that makes me a key worker Thinking ? Will it be okay if I stand outside and take a bow when all the clappers do their thing tonight? Thinking

Ban this one and bring back Donk.

Least he keeps his crap in one neat section and it's sometimes amusing to see the opposite end of the political spectrum.

This thing is just a dirty, fantasist spastic and he pollutes his crap spergings all over the entire forum.

I've been working with 1 day off a week (and can't work from home) since this debacle started. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy i still have my normal income (and I'm able to save more) but I'd really like a break.

If anyone is missing the contributions from Donk then his words which smell of racism and poor life decisions are available on Twitter. Thumbs Up

The suspense of waiting to hear what King29 has been up to is building but I'm confident he won't disappoint us on his return. Laughing

Cant you just ban the new sock account instead?

My karma has taken a right arseraping over turning donk BAME. I dont mind taking one for the team but a second carnage campaign is out of the question at the moment.

My wife just happened to start job hunting at the end of last year, successfully landed a new one, worked her notice and was due to start new job on 1st April (we should've seen that as a sign really) - but a week before this, the new employer decided to defer the start date (because of Coronavirus, natch). She's still in limbo, so two full months with f'ck all pay - probably June too.
She also missed out on furlough because she wasn't on their payroll by whatever date in March it was - the advice was to ask old employer to re-hire her for the purpose of furlough, but they said no (she left on good terms, but they were obviously feeling bitter about being dumped, so that was their revenge Rolling Eyes )
Pretty harsh really, considering she's _never_ been unemployed before. Furlough should've been based on NI/tax contributions rather than some arbitrary date to have been on a payroll by. Ah well.

I'm WFH until August (all of us at the company are) - I'm actually missing the office now, but massively thankful that I'm still earning full wage and not getting furlough.

I sympathise with workers who missed out due to dates but whatever the government did there was always going to be people falling through the cracks. Some really deserve the help, others don't though.

I saw this programme on TV where director owners of small ltd. companies were moaning because they had paid themselves in dividends and not wages so they weren't eligible for furlough. They didn't say they paid themselves in dividends to get out of paying tax. Karma bites sometimes.

Same with self employed whining about not getting much when they have been doing cash in hand jobs to get out of paying contributions.

Just get ready for the sh1t hitting the fan when furlough stops. Wifie was wondering if she'll still have a job but said she could always go back into the care home sector. 'Well, if there are any residents still alive, yes, and I will be living on the boat you plague carrier' says I. Wink

I'm in a shite mood today.

As I've previously said, I'm still working abet with a laptop in my dining room, living room and on one notable occasion from the on-suite for a skype meeting to get away from the noise that 3 children and wife create.

The little bastard has also burst into a Skype meeting much to the amusement of all the other attendees.

Still on my not insignificant full pay but as I'm private sector I'm expecting the double whammy of a tax increase and a pay freeze in the near future but we all have to take the pain and as a good socialist I'll accept it with good grace because I'm in a much better position than a lot of people.

Donk and his ilk that are avoiding paying national insurance by using the dividend/limited company trick can fuck right off. They could have paid themselves as employees during the good times and so can fuck right off in the bad times.

Universal credit is no more than those tax dodgers deserve. They can bitch all they fucking like.

Ready to be flamed here, but to be fair, being limited and paying dividends doesn't save that much compared to being employed in a job. Still paying CT and then tax on those dividends. My expenses are minimal and I must have paid at least 25% tax on co turnover. I heard it isn't as sweet as it used to be. I'm fortunate enough that it's pretty much business as usual apart from having to do some child care and working from home. Still paying for the studio space though.

I do feel for people who have slipped through the gaps, it's a real shitty time.

As opposed to the 33% tax and NI paid by people on PAYE?
