You do know that newsbeat stuff is aimed at kids and focuses on stuff that kids worry about?

Kids? Your version of kids is very different to mine....

"On one side when it comes to religion, you're Muslim but black. But on the other side, when it comes to culture, you're black or you're Muslim. So where do you win?" the 28-year-old tells Radio 1 Newsbeat.

For 31-year-old Kaya, she relates to those issues as a black Muslim woman in the dating world.

I feel like since I started wearing my hijab, I'm visibly Muslim," the 27-year-old from Manchester says.

How the fuck can the BBC regard this as news is way beyond me.

Kaya thinks there needs to be more representation to make Muslim spaces more inclusive for Black Muslims.

"You don't see a lot of black Muslims leading classes, as imams."

"If you don't see someone that looks and resembles yourself, you are always going to feel outcasted in society and never feel included."

Wooooww, black people are being excluded by the Muslim community now, too Laughing

I thought it was white supremacists and white privilege's fault?!

Your environment makes a big difference because when I'm in Nigeria, being black and Muslim is just what everybody is. I feel like since I started wearing my hijab, I'm visibly Muslim," the 27-year-old from Manchester says.

Well hot piss, who'd have figured that out. I'm sure I'd have the red carpet rolled out for me and everybody would be just sooo respectful of my Christianity and Whiteness if I went to Nigeria and started prattling off to the papers about how non inclusive they were being Laughing

To me though the most shocking omission is that nowhere in the article does it do the obvious flip around....
Kha'llum, from Birmingham, England, senses the tension when it's time to meet a family member of someone he likes.

Yeah sure, let's focus on how the Whitey's family members will go WTAF she's brought a black dude home.

Let's not mention at all the furore there would be in a Muslim household if their son brought home a white English non Muslim girl Laughing. It's as if they'd be perfectly accepting of that because they're just sooo inclusive. Unlike us lot, obviously.

Which makes the level of brainwashing even more despicable, frankly.

There's hardly a single fact in that article. Even the %'s are about feelings.

Particularly like the 'I Feelz' on George Floyd BLM riots making a difference because 'even the pages I follow' seem to be different.

All for opinion pieces. This is just trash.

Ah newsbeat. One of the things that made me switch off radio 1 quite a few years ago. I noticed that their radio bulletins always seemed to be spoken...just...a...little...bit..slower than normal with over dramatic emotion added at random and once I heard it it just irked me constantly, to the point I emailled them and asked why the same news presenters who seemed perfectly capable to speak properly at 8am had lost it by 12. They used nicer words but basically explained they dumb down the tone for the audience. Seems since then they hav turned it less into news more into a echochamber of cool right on above facts

You'd expect to find this sort of conspiratorial hate on the darkest recesses of the internet, not on the BBC.

Surely the giveaway here is the action of the beautiful woman in choosing to go home with you. Either that or the 'spotting' of wee on the front of the frock as 'she' comes out of the toilet...

Kill the cop inside your head.

We’ve all got a cop inside our heads.
It’s up to you what you do about that.

Spoken word and performance artist Subira Joy explores their experiences being targeted by the police as a Black, queer and trans person in the UK.

Combining striking visual imagery with powerful language, this new work examines the impact of the police in our communities and how we internalise their role to repress and suppress ourselves into submission.

Tracing narratives of police encounters while centring themes of violence, gaslighting and abuse of power, this work exposes how we impede our liberation when confronted by our inner cop.

Ah see, that's the little Jedi Mind-trick that's been played.

Trans with penis = female and, therefore, female and trans = heavily oppressed. Not guilty your honour.

Trans with penis that tries to dupe a woman into penetrative sex = female and, therefore, female and trans = heavily oppressed. Not guilty your honour. Have some victim points - it's not your fault you're trying to bust in some skins through the cotton ceiling.

Bloke with penis that tries to dupe a woman into penetrative sex = dirty horrible oppressive male patriarchal shitlord = heavy oppressor. Guilty AF your honour.

It's much more sad than that. Lesbians at Uni chatting up a bird at the bar. Turns out it's one of your transcontinentals Shocked And then they're pressured into accepting a feminine penis on pain of being outed as a transphobe.

Trans ppl I don't have a problem with. Trans activists are almost to a man perverts, rapists and child molesters Sad

Stonewall ranks the NHS with Bronze Silver or Gold Rainbow Badges in £220k taxpayer funded project Laughing

The NHS trusts will be judged by the controversial Stonewall charity on their LGBT ‘inclusion’ in a £ 220,000 taxpayer-funded project.

The Telegraph has learned that around 40 NHS trusts will be ‘assessed’ on diversity after NHS England awarded the contract, titled NHS Rainbow Badges, to five LGBT groups.

Trusts will receive a bronze, silver or gold medal based on their “inclusive cultures” and “trans status monitoring”, with assessors hired with higher starting salaries than nurses and paramedics. paramedics.

A prominent role will be played by Stonewall, despite the removal of many high-level organizations and ministries from its diversity agenda.

The £ 220,000 national NHS program, finalized last month, will see Stonewall and the LGBT Foundation work to ‘build a more systemic approach to LGBT awareness and inclusion’, including ‘monitoring, culture, education and training ”.

The original article is a hatchet job on a pretty much non issue. I personally know a hell of a lot of trans people, and I can't ever remember any of them saying "genital preferences" were transphobic. Consent is a very basic thing, whatever that is based on.

But then the article was written by Caroline Lowbridge who has repeatedly written articles to attack trans people.

If you want to see the kind of people involved in these attacks on trans people, look up Lily Cade who was quoted in the article. She was claiming that she felt pressured into performing with a trans women in a porn movie (she didn't perform with them), yet has herself apologised for sexual assault. Below a few screen shots of recent posts by her (and and article covering them here )

Trans people get a lot of attacks. Most of the time trans people just can't be bothered anymore to push back against badly informed stuff (like much of this forum thread). But when the BBC does it at least there is some possible way to highlight it.

Yeah, that would be a lot better if you replaced "Trans women" with "Trans activists" then it totally works. Maybe they could all get together an elect someone to represent their interests instead of ceding that position to the shouty ppl and fraudulent charities Thinking

It did show the British Forces' "out-of-the-box" thinking - highly unusual for military leadership. Or maybe the Americans are (still) atrocious Thinking
