Interested to know what is going on here. Cleaning rocker cover and the first 3 pulse air reed valves had a thick carbon deposit everywhere on the exhaust side. The carbon from 3 combined would half fill a shot glass.
The first reed was slightly oily on both sides. No carbon.

I know the exhaust ports are relatively free of carbon and the engine is not burning oil in the cylinders. I assume the oil is coming from the engine breather, in to airbox then into pulse air.

I think the reed valves must be letting some gas flow, not enough to burn the hose, but enough to cook any oil below the valves.

Ive not inspected a 125k mile pulse air system before so dont know how clean it should be. Might replace the pair valves
