So I recently got a job 15 miles away from me, I am worried that if I end up putting 150 miles a week on it that it won't last long. It's a speedfight 3 darkside 7400 miles on it. 125cc

I am new to riding so I want to know if it can handle long ish rides regularly?

I also have a few more questions if anyone can help/has experience with 125 peds

how often to get a service?
how often do I add oil?
how many miles do these bikes usually last?
if I sit and ride at 60 for a while will this harm the bike?

Thanks for any help!

How many miles a week do you think Domino's put on their scooters Laughing

as for servicing there should be a haynes manual or similar giving you all the info you need Thumbs Up

Cheers mate! yeah the main thing I was concerned about what the amount of hard miles ill be doing on it every day and wondered if this would shorten the life of the bike Smile

It'll be fine. Just keep on top of oil changes and air filter cleaning. If you're concerned you can shorten the oil change interval a bit. Just ensure the oil level stays where it should be between changes.

I've put about 1000 miles on it this month you think I should change the oil and air filter? I've kept the oil topped up but I don't know if its had a oil change (the last owner said it had been serviced but who knows)

I would be inclined to go for the "normal servicing schedule" on page 11/12 of the indicated manual, noting that "servicing every 5,000km" is about the same as "servicing every 3,000 miles", and pay special attention to the oil changes (both engine and "gearbox"), buying decent oil not cheap crap, after all the oil cost makes little difference, having to have new parts and walk does. Keep up to date with the "servicing notebook" so you don't forget the servicing!

1) How many miles when you got it.
2) Are you certain sure the servicing has been done properly/fully, on time?

If there's any doubt on (2), get a service done (refer to the manual that Dynax posted).

How does your 15 miles look? Is it 1 mile of 30 road to 12 of 70mph road and 2 of more 30 road? That's missing from your question?

"Hard" miles might be trying to get 60 up a steep hill Smile

But other than that it's as easy as getting a calculator out: 3000 miles for oil change? If it were me I'd step it up to a full oil change every 6 months and a new filter every year.

Keep an eye on the brake pads as well, their life expectancy depends on how much stop/start there is on your commute, so any advice in the service schedule will only be an approximation.
