Found one of them 1807 Abolish Slavery coins amongst the stuff in my recent ex-wifely house-clearing project.

So I'm looking it up, as you do.

But it's impossible for me to comprehend whether it's worth fuck all or hundreds of pahnds.

Yes ... when the queen faces upwards the lettering on the edge is upside down.
Is this just urban myth?

Either way I don't care.
I'm not going to just spend it willy nilly (just in case) - but it would be helpful to know if it's ACTUALLY really worth holding onto for a while.

It's not as if I desperately need it Rolling Eyes
Might be a good thing I didn't accidentally use it at the ice cream van yesterday, though?

According to eBay Completed listings normal ones fail to sell for £2.50

Ones with incorrect writing fail to sell for £4 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-COIN-2007-An-Act-for-Abolition-of-Slave-Trade-1807-2007-200yrs-mint-error/143634410445?hash=item2171472bcd:g:jD8AAOSwpLdcFjrH

That said I'd keep any mint error coin, fuck knows what it's worth in a decade.

Yeah I might just chuck it in a drawer.
With a note saying "DO NOT SPEND!"
(just in case) Laughing

I have a Darwin one in my draw. Worthless (well worth face value) but I reckon it is the coolest coin they ever made. Not only do I find it amusing to look at but I love the state sanctioned, "Fuck You", to creationists Laughing

I've been clearing out my late parents's house.

I found the cine projector my dad would use to show all the old films of us as kids at xmas/on holiday as well as his ones from his days in Sri lanka/Singapore of people poking sharpened sticks through their faces (for the baby Jesus I think).

Tucked inside is a typed receipt dated October 28th 1967.

Bought off: AJ Hillier Esq
Manor Park, London E12 (my late Uncle)

Sold to J Powell Esq (my late Dad)

One secondhand Eumig Cine Projector, Model P8 Serial number 1102651

For the sum of £30, 0s,0d.

Christ I thought, £30 then is a lot of money, must be worth a bit now.

A search online showed it to be worth.....about £30!!!

Driving buses means you get to handle lots of change (well, pre-lockdown it did).

The kew gardens 50p is the one you want. Around £120 a piece last time checked on ebay. Kicking myself as back in 2009 I didn't know fancy coins were worth anything. Definitely remember handling a couple of them.

I've got a couple of 2002 commonwealth games £2 coins knocking around. They're about the rarest of the 2quid coins and depending on the flag (eng/NI/sco/wal) they go for 15-20quid usually. Used to get one or two a month, which was a nice bonus.

You never see any of the alphabet 10p coins... wonder what they're worth?

I've been saving these for years. I was selling them on Ebay a few years ago and doing not bad. I sold a 5 pound note for £15 too.

The 50p is the one that sells, tho Ebay fees and postage kill you, that and the constant pushing of certian sellers the last few years has seen me sell next to nothing. I pulled them a few months ago.
