I figured I'd ask the wise of BCF because between you all you know everything .

I'm after fitting some marker lights down the side of my van ( amber ones ) and some red ones along the rear bumper .

From what I can see on the internet everyone seems to be wiring them to a seperate switch .

Am I ok just wiring them into my sidelights so they are on all the time or will this be a problem with the plod ?

I've looked online to find the rules on this but can only find stuff on the vehicle been over 6meter long or a trailer so I'm unsure where I would sit with the van .

Ta 👍

yes, should be fine but do them in parallel rather than sequence and you may need to uprate the wiring to the sidelights because of the higher load.

Lighting is complex and it's not just the colours and off on or not on.
The position counts too.
From the ground from edge of the vehicle and proximity to other markers.

You may have to refer to the RTA or a trailer light supplier.

Or C&U regs would be relevant to the matter.
