i had one - totally stock

it was...okay

bloody good on petrol if grannied

would actually steer quite well on the sly, but that bit of nice torque it had was soon used up, then it needed revs and that's when it wasn't so happy

surprisingly uncomfortable, arse wise

I've always liked the w650/800 reboot, yet never got one.

There are still a plenty of ''real-retro'' bikes around. I'm after a BSA Gold Star, 500cc single, or a BMW R60, these days. Thinking

personally i think the 800 is a lot better than the 650 to ride - but i love carbs and the kick start

An American company used to make bolt-on supercharger kits for those. I reckon that would have made a pretty awesome tool.

Fascinating engine, it was one of those concept bikes they used to encourage their staff to make for motor shows. My understanding is it was designed and built totally from scratch and doesn't share parts with any other bikes.

Gotta like bevel drive cams.
