Hello.

Dear Sir/ Madam

I got a motorcycle helmet from my uncle, he told me that these helmets belong to some prominent motorcyclist, and it cost some money. Could you help me to indemnify it?

Looking forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully

So "these helmets belong to some prominent motorcyclist, and it cost some money"

"Belonged to" and "were originally expensive", perhaps, or "were recently expensive"?

This is fun!

How old is this thing. The earliest it could be is possibly '60s, but it does not look that old at all. Late '70s/early '80s? '90s?

What's it made of? GRP? What's written on the buckle [EDIT: perhaps it says "MADE IN ITALY" "PATENTED"]? Is there anything written on the rest of it, e.g. under the lining?

What sort of motorcycling was it involved in? Pootling about up and down the High Street?

Was it used by a "prominent motorcyclist" in his spare time, or racing, possibly? Not road racing though, or (tarmac) track racing, not drag racing, or it would be full face.

Where was it used? Are there clues in the characters on it, or the design?

I wonder whether the OP has any more info at all.

I wouldn’t even say it’s that old. Looks like it’s made of carbon fibre so probably not more than 10 ... if you search for Momo helmets this is the top result that comes up so it’s pretty much current model.

Edit: wasn’t far off.... 2007

Ooh, getting there! I was wondering "carbon fibre" 'cos I have some cheap indicators which are supposed to look like it (but are not).
