Well I’ve finally worn out my tungsten carbide burrs Shocked ???
The thing is I inherited them years ago, so have no idea what brand they were or where they originally came from.

So, oh mighty BCF, here’s the question: can anyone recommend any particular brand/manufacturer of burrs that are particularly good?

Yes I have been on the net and there are plenty out there, so that’s not a problem.
I just wondered if anyone had any recommendations?.

Burrs dont just wear out. Clogged with aluminium? Soak them in lye. Or chipped from incorrect use, use higher speeds next time. My 6mm burr is about 10years old and gets a lot if use in die grinder, and equally low speed abuse in a cordless drill, it has a lot of life left.

Shop-apt is good. Or ebay. Garryson are a good brand, often not cheap.

Cant go too far wrong with carbide burrs to be honest. They require diamond grinding and its not something you can really cut costs on.

Mine has Embarassed maybe some incorrect use? Maybe because my dad had them before me? possibly??? They’ve been around for a long time and had a lot of use over the years.

Carbide Burrs are like any cutting tool and lose their sharp edge in service.
They are expensive little beasties but if one believes that one can benefit from owning one or a set then they have value.
I've used them for years and I've never met one that 'really' lasted long.
They are used for recovering fcku-ups in the industry I work in so are shown minimal mercy by the arseholes who use them.
Drill bits or any cutting tool on a drilling rig? Theatrical Ha ha ha ha ha..... (But not that funny.)

However I have found a handful hiding in my pile of gash junk and old tools.
I have also just bought some Dremel type bits for peanuts.
