Hi all,

Just picked up a 2010 Aprilia Shiver 750 yesterday and it's in immaculate condition, very happy. I'll be riding it all year round so will be coating everything in ACF-50 come late autumn to give it half a chance of staying so clean and tidy.

The exhaust is factory fresh at the moment and I'm a bit concerned that the ACF-50 won't do much to help there, so I've been looking at alternatives so as I can pop the original in the loft for a year or two. Problem being most of the known brand pipes are getting on for a quarter of what I paid for the bike.

I've spotted these super cheap Chinese cans and I'm honestly tempted.

Just wondering if anybody has any experience with these super cheap exhausts?

Will it sound awful and fall apart in the first month, or will I get away with it for a year or two until I come to sell?

2020 bike? Is that a typo otherwise I would hope it's bloody immaculate.

As far as the exhaust goes, at that price, I have no idea of the quality but for that price why not try it. £200 for silencers and pipe, FFS I've paid more than that for a single silencer and that wasn't anything top of the range.

It'll be loud as fuck, I know someone with one of the little fake Akra's. Not too bad with a baffle in but still toward the louder end of the spectrum. They appear to be the exact same as companies like "lextech" punt out, just without the markup and unsubstantiated (bullshit) claims of power increases.

I'd give it a punt.

Looks a bit questionable imo, kinda get the vibe you will notice some gaps in the riveting etc

Also worth looking into the tune I guess, not sure if it has a second cat in the silencers on the stock? new ones look straight through.

Lol

also these are not for a 2020 bike. Says up to 2016.

You want to save the cost of damage to the OE exhaust, by spending £200 on a Chinese exhaust - on a bike you plan to sell in a year or so?

Did I get that right? Laughing

Perhaps he intends falling off it a lot?

I know it sounds perverse/backwards, but I lost a lot of value on the R1200GS I just sold due to general corrosion on exposed metal parts, way more than £200.

On this bike everything else is either painted, or is cool enough to ACF-50, so the main thing I'm worried about ruining is the exhaust.

The exhaust is also notoriously heavy on these so if I lose a bit of weight and add a nicer sound for £200 then I can hardly complain.

Its likely gonna get stolen before it gets a chance to corrode!

I'd buy them, but I just like noise and OE doesn't look that great.
